Police van at Yingluck’s house arouses speculation

Yingluck's house

A security camera video clip emerged on Thursday showing several vehicles entering and exiting the residence of former premier Yingluck Shinawatra, including a police van, on August 23.

Isra News Agency released the clip, eliciting rumours that Yingluck could have been in the van.

Yingluck failed to show up to hear the verdict regarding her alleged negligence in her government’s rice-pledging scheme at the Supreme Court last Friday (August 25).

On August 23, she was last seen in the morning giving alms to monks and in the afternoon visiting a hotel with her entourage.

The online news agency reported that Yingluck had returned home on August 23 at around 2pm. From that time, several vehicles entered and exited her house included a Toyota Fortuner, a Honda Civic, an Isuzu pickup and a Nissan March.

The report said the Fortuner belonged to Pinthongta Shinawatra, the daughter of Yingluck’s brother Thaksin Shinawatra.

However, the most interesting vehicle was a police van seen leaving the house at about 9pm.

It is believed that she may have escaped on August 23 because no one has reported seeing her the following day.

When asked about the van, the national police chief on Thursday refused to comment on the report, saying he had already assigned his deputy, Pol General Srivara Rangsibhramanakul, to handle the case.

I disagree, I'd say the fortuner "shin escape vehicle" was the most interesting.

Does anyone really care, seems the government although making a few useless statements and lots of foot in mouth or bullet holes to the feet doesn't seem all to concerned, so why should the unwashed, uneducated, and irrelevant farangs care about YL etc.

You care enough to opine on this and insult others with those unnecessary derogatory description of others who might have a different view. You should be proud of yourself.

Well here's a thought, given all your previous claims of having inside information, what's the truth?

And by the way, you've written plenty of derogatory comments about many folks in the past, which no doubt you're proud of.

Read between the lines Eric if that's possible, the derogatory description (in your view) is how the majority of Thais look at farangs living in Thailand, so our opinion counts for bugger all.

Is that (most) of the 100 Thais you've meet and know or a couple of million?

But you're probably right, it might be a little O/T, but to many - we don't rate a second thought.

Most Thais don't personally know any farangs, so it's hard for them to have any opinion of us....and who cares one iota of them uninformed opinion based on what they see on TV?

Thai nicknames traditionally refer to events and appearances around the time of the birth. The mind boggles.

They certainly don't need to invent stories for TV (comedy) drama series here. All they've got to do is write scripts based on the silly news. You can't invent stuff like that!

If there were that many vehicles involved in YL vanishing you would of thought by now it would of had someone's loose lips flapping.

As long as Big Brother Thaksin is paying the Brown shirts to protect his sister do you really think they would start a serious investigation? Noo...!
