  1. If you read what he wrote - That suggests possibly not necessarily at one fixed abode...........
  2. They have a limit of 4 years in one go. I am on my second 4 year stretch but did have a gap of less than a year in the middle so definitely worth trying again.
  3. Have you read all of the link you were given? Looked at any of the other tax threads running......... Simplistically no but depends on what you remit, when it was earned and what it may say in any DTA your home country may have with Thailand plus Thai allowances - all covered in the link you were given..........
  4. Where exactly is "there"?
  5. Ok thanks. Yes that does seem "unusual". Sorry to be more pedantic but were the bands you mentioned the actual bands they asked as they do not match the Thai RD tax bands?
  6. Unless you actually post what Wise asked for how can we even guess.....? I don't know yours or his specific circumstances but if as @Upnotover replied than seems highly doubtful......
  7. Either something wrong with my monitor or jet black here means something different to what I assumed........
  8. If you are UK resident for tax then they will accept it - it is basically a box ticking exercise for them unless you are on file with them with a foreign address. When this came up in the past many who had addresses and claimed residency in Thailand simply said that they did not need a TIN in Thailand as they did not pay tax here....... This worked for some at that time.
  9. I guess if nothing else is available you may miss Liptons but personally I find their tea bags somewhat insipid......... I think even the Makro own brand (if available) are probably better and as Trans posted lots of options online - all be it a little more expensive.
  10. It has got nothing to do with online banking per se. There have been many threads over the last few years about UK banks and other countries asking their account holders for these details. It is all about "knowing your customer" and international tax sharing agreements like CRS. Among them Barclays have actively closed down a lot of non-residents accounts. it sounds like they know or are guessing you are not living in the UK and possibly hence asking. TIN stands for Tax Identification number. For the UK this is your NI no.
  11. Smile is a UK digital banking arm - I think for the Co Op
  12. So give to charity or find a cause to fund.........
  13. There are always "rogue" offices that make up their own requirements but otherwise personally I think you will be waiting a long time.........potentially a very long time. I just did my extension 2 weeks ago and no issue.
  14. Perhaps you want to have a look at this https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/residence-domicile-and-remittance-basis/rdrm33520 (assuming you may consider the UK still as "first world" .....)
  15. It could depend on his bank. I found some years ago with an offshore bank that offered supposedly "free" transfers that I got hit with a $50 correspondent bank fee. After discussing with them I found that if I opted out of the free transfer and took all charges I manage to avoid both the correspondent fee and the 300-500 baht Thai bank fee - and ended up paying less than half in total fees.
  16. Same as yours. Package price 200k (2 years ago) but included overnight in the hospital. Both done on same day in my case.
  17. Read the whole article including the bit at the end. Should not be an issue for what you are looking to do.
  18. Absolutely. The only thing missing from the free edition as far as I am concerned is the separate file and folder backup.
  19. Their site? https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/standard.html
  20. I have generally had good results with Major Geeks https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/macrium_reflect_free_edition.html Make sure you read the Editor's Note at the bottom of the article
  21. OP this may help with some answers- https://www.supersightsurgery.com/ Go to FAQs on the right of the screen. Thoroughly recommended (in my case) all be it perhaps a tad pricey....
  22. if I was a cynical man..........I would say it is just a photo shoot of him turning over a bit of earth..... Do you really think he actually dug the hole or planted the tree which is pictured? Whilst the poster you were responding to may have been a little acerbic in his initial comment your future responses appear, being polite, somewhat disingenuous
  23. The PBS headline is (IMHO) very misleading - When in the article it states
