Thai PM Pressured to Dissolve House Over Skyrocketing Power Costs
Crossy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Whilst this is true, power gets more expensive the more you use, the actual base tariff hasn't changed since January 10, 2024. The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) of Thailand set new electricity charges, ranging from 4.68 baht to 5.95 baht/unit from January until April 2024. However, the government later intervened and reduced the rate to 4.18 baht per kWh for households consuming less than 300 kWh per month. The Fuel Tariff (Ft) has also remained constant during the same period, meaning that if you use the same amount of energy your bill will be the same as it was in February this year. Nothing has rocketed, sky or otherwise. Bills have of course increased over the summer, because people are using more energy for aircon during the hot weather. -
An auction in China – the country’s biggest for energy storage – suggests that the price decline in battery cells, thanks to intense competition, technology and efficiency improvements and boosted manufacturing capacity, may be even more dramatic than that. According to reports out of China, the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) has attracted 76 bidders for its unprecedented tender of 16 GWh. The bids were opened on December 4, and according to PV Mag, has attracted prices ranging from $US60.5/kWh to $US82/kWh, with an averaging of $US66.3/kWh. It said 60 of the bids were below $68.4/kWh. https://reneweconomy.com.au/mind-blowing-battery-cell-prices-plunge-in-chinas-biggest-energy-storage-auction/

Yeah, the PEA tariff and Ft haven't changed in the past 12 months. More of a damp squib than a skyrocket. -

A couple of articles: - https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/1219878/all-arriving-luggage-to-be-x-rayed-at-main-airports https://www.nationthailand.com/perspective/30375894 Whether this ever actually happened I know not, hence my "I believe". Like you, I don't give a flying flip if they see my dirty laundry unless they think my socks are a bio-hazard (my site boots are another thing altogether and need handling with full HAZMAT gear). -

Merry Thingy and a Happy New Wotsit to you and yours @MJCM The controllers "might" have on-off terminals, have you got the manuals or at least piccies?? Do you need to change-over when the pumps are operating?? -

Solar Jack Knife Switch Question
Crossy replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Switching DC can be problematic, I suspect that the simple knife switch is going to be the "best" solution. Generally, you can switch DC with an AC rated switch if you stay below 10% of the AC rated voltage, so your 600V knife switch is just about there. There are rotary switches that should do the trick, if you can find 600V (or DC rated) ones, but they tend to be pretty tight to turn 😞 How about using a couple of DC solid-state relays wired to a small toggle switch, easy to operate, easy enough for a competent DIYer to implement? Are there any solar controllers in the mix or are the pumps wired direct to the panels? Of course, more panels would mean you don't need to switch anything 🙂 -

And where is he planning on concealing it? I believe they are x-raying all arriving baggage before it gets to the carousel, but that's about it unless you get selected to have your bags x-rayed at the customs post on the way out. -

A lawyer named “Strange” was shopping for a tombstone. After he had made his selection, the stonecutter asked him what inscription he would like on it. “Here lies an honest man and a lawyer,” responded the lawyer. “Sorry, but I can't do that,” replied the stonecutter “In this state, it's against the law to bury two people in the same grave. However, I could put ‘Here lies an honest lawyer.'” “But that won't let people know who it is,” protested the lawyer. “It most certainly will,” retorted the stonecutter “People will read it and exclaim, ‘That's Strange!' “

It is 100% correct and almost identical to your box. But note, it is wired as TNC-S (MEN) you would be TNS so the incoming neutral would NOT go via the ground bar, just directly to the bottom of the main breaker. The incoming supply goes to the bottom of the big breaker. The live from that breaker goes to the live bus bar that the MCB clip on to. The neutral from the main breaker is connected internally to the neutral bus bar to the left. You can actually see the internal connection going to the right in the middle of the neutral bar.
