  1. Thailand has never been very big on enforcing its laws. Back in the UK, the police rarely enforced any laws involving mothers either. So all agreeing on the law doesn't make that much difference to any outcome in the real world.
  2. Probably because she was told never to be alone with a man. At 14 she should know better than to go to a guys room ....... for any reason. We taught our daughter not to even get in a songtaw if she were the only passenger. Conversely, When I was a schoolteacher in the UK, we were all told never to be alone in a classroom with a female student.
  3. It was supposed to be Is not In ...... predictive text or typo ....... who can say! Hard to tell what you're typing when 3/4 of your phone screen is obscured by adverts and keyboard.
  4. Would point out touching in public is frowned on by Thai society.
  5. In 'unordinary' a word? Shouldn't it be extraordinary or unusual or abnormal.
  6. All the Thai islands are like that. After my first trip (Koh Libong), I never went to a Thai island again.
  7. Yep, they're very friendly, I used to go there 3-4x a year. After few 2 weeks trips the lady at immigration said I should stay longer (unlike Thai 'you come too much'). If I hadn't already had a relationship going in Thailand, I would have stayed. Even the guys are friendly! And everyone speaks English. No racist slurs either, they all call you 'boss' or 'sir'.
  8. Stop giving her money is the obvious starting point.
  9. After my 2 hour romp I usually fall asleep.
  10. No visa for working EU citizens in the UK without submitting tax details after Brexit. Before brexit they could enter without a visa.
  11. Not sure, I'm a native English speaker, learned French, learned German, learned Spanish. Learned a bit of Thai (+basic reading and writing) but never found it worthwhile. Especially as I only get 1 year to stay at a time. I've forgotten most of my German and Thai now as I never used them. (my family speak Lanna and English) If I had to learn another language now, it wouldn't be Thai as I don't live in Bangkok. Always surprised at the western guys that insist you learn Thai while not seeming to understand that Central Thai isn't generally spoken by most Thai people in normal conversations.
  12. Every bank teller in every branch of every bank will tell a different story. Unless we all spoke to the same teller you visited, we wouldn't have heard the same. Net time find another bank cash deposit ATM to take your money. Doesn't have to be your branch or even your bank.
  13. Current numbers suggest it takes 100x to reliably impregnate. A century ago it was only 20x.
  14. I have no money apart from my pensions. I'm worth more alive.
  15. I only said that to avoid the personal attacks that you attract!
  16. Yep, I had a problem paying for a lazada delivery, van driver wasn't surprised, said many deliveries were having the same problem. Bangkok Bank was the culprit (as usual), TTB (my other account) had no problems.
  17. I paid for mine to go to high school then university. She now runs the PTA and the housing association and handles all their finances. Her pals are the police chief, headmaster, head of amphur and tessaban. I don't get involved, not my country, not my business. "... its instantly recognisable who the respectable Wives are and who the 'ex-BG's' are...." @richard_smith237 Maybe it is and they don't care, or maybe it isn't.
  18. My last one claimed 50% of her customers just wanted to cuddle her and cry about how badly their western wives had treated them. I saw no reason to doubt her, especially as she was charging them 40,000bht (plus expenses) for the weekend. This was back in 2010.
  19. I think it's down to us all being 60+, and wanting a fit looking 30 year old woman in our beds.
  20. "......... and also shares Jo's passion for health and fitness." I wouldn't call someone that died at age 30 healthy or fit. Epic fail!
  21. Disagree, I've rented/bought many Asian ladies, and they were all better than the Brit lady that allegedly married me for love. The trick is, not to give them enough money up front, that they no longer need you.
  22. Only did it once, bus is cheaper and more comfortable.
  23. 'in sickness and health' went out the window in the UK in 1997.
  24. That's very true, but i'm used to living in the UK, so 8 months of unbearably cold, dark and wet Vs 2 months of smog is an easy decision to make.
