  1. They don't "need" Thai passports, as they can enter on their current passport, visa-exempt. There are no fines or bans for children who overstay, so there isn't really an issue if you only plan to stay for a year. They will need to leave Thailand on the same passport that they entered on. But it makes a whole lot of sense to get them Thai passports before you leave if you can!
  2. Indeed - up, then down, then up again. We have to learn to live with it.
  3. So schools stay closed forever if some families refuse to be vaccinated? Why should my kid's education suffer on account of the unvaccinated?
  4. So, as no one is suggesting that children under 12 should be vaccinated why can't primary schools open now? Why do they have to wait until November?
  5. That's not good? Which hospital? I'm due my 2nd AZ at Bumrungrad next month and I hope they are better organised.
  6. How many times can the test be taken and failed before LTR is refused and you have to leave the UK?
  7. All excellent questions. How about just ensuring that teachers and school staff are vaccinated and then opening up with the same Covid protocols as last time? Parents can decide whether to send their kids to school, or not.
  8. There's a sign outside Amarin Plaza today (Chitlom) saying "walk-in Pfizer". She could try there. Also my Lao wife successfully registered via the BCCT, but that was for AZ which I seem to remember is not suitable for your girlfriend.
  9. Things are improving, but still no likelihood of schools re-opening any time soon. Shameful.
  10. It's the best burger, not the cheapest.
  11. November? What about international schools that started term in August!! By the time school reopens it will be the Christmas holidays.
  12. Will be interesting to see how that works! Will nightclub bouncers or door-staff at sports events be trained to spot a Thai AZ or Pfizer certificate?
  13. True. We are at the learn to live with it stage now.
  14. Agree. No way will it go back to how it was before. Just look at Vietnam.
  15. Maybe too early for foreign tourists, but at least let those of us from Bangkok and other provinces enjoy alcoholic drinks during our stay!
  16. Well, so far the infection rates are going down, so let's wait and see if there's a spike next week, and if so, how much of one. I can't see the restrictions being re-imposed - the people won't take it!
  17. My comment was mostly in regard to any further vaccination requirements (or "vaccine passports") that the UK may require for entry to sporting events, nightclubs etc, after quarantine has been completed.
  18. When we moved, I identified the area (down to 2-3 specific sois) I wanted to move to (Ploenchit) and spent a week walking around and going into the juristic offices to see what was available. It was much better than relying on out-of-date information online or agents. Eventually I found a great low-rise condo right next my kid's school and a short walk to work for me. In my opinion you need to put in the legwork and physically look at buildings and units.
