  1. Their last night will be a dry one from 6:00pm, due to the local elections I understand.
  2. Where can I find this manual. The User's Guide on the immigration website still says 15 days.
  3. It was obviously a junkbot post. Who would recommend a company on Vancouver Island to discuss an issue in Thailand with?
  4. Why take the 25% in one go if you're not going to spend it immediately' Leave it in the pension to grow or take it over a longer period.
  5. They tried this over 5 years ago and I've even got one generated from that system which never took off. I wonder if this is a new system or just a re-hash of the old one?
  6. Try using Truemoney app. I've never done it but when I select PEA as a bill to pay the first prompt is for a 12 digit account number and near the top of my bill is a field titled "CA/Ref. No. 1" which is 12 digits. Worth a try perhaps.
  7. Tell them you're buying a condo or getting married?
  8. Sunday flight gets dropped from March and Friday flight dropped from April, then nothing at all from May.
  9. From reading other threads, it's unlikely that Citibank can do International ACH transfers, only domestic, so payment through BBL New York would not be possible from them.
  10. Not quite. Chonburi immigration have stated in an interview (with Pattaya Mail I think) that there are no current plans for immigration to check tax status.
  11. Here are Maneerat's requirement as of a few days ago. Note the BBL app requirement which has been discussed on here but not mentioned in this thread so far.
  12. More recent page I think: https://www.facebook.com/littleayes
  13. I think this is the current page: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/traveling-with-ag-products/coffee-tea-honey-nuts-spices
  14. Look at this thread. There's a few banks mentioned and Krungsri is one of them, with a potential explanation on the second page if Amazon use KBank as their processor. https://aseannow.com/topic/1348303-grab-and-food-panda-blocking-some-or-all-thai-bank-debit-cards/page/2/
  15. https://aseannow.com/topic/1336657-how-about-some-diy-optometry-yes-im-in-the-right-forum/
  16. There is no legal right to claim it back. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2022/01/dwp-has--no-legal-power--to-force-you-to-repay-pension-or-benefi/
  17. I thought that had been dropped already as the machines weren't up to scratch, or is it back on again? https://www.able2travel.com/news/new-airport-scanners-fail-100ml-liquid-limit-returns-across-eu/ It's for a different system, not immigration. You would be able to get through the rest of the departures process including boarding without showing boarding pass or passport again as it would be done with facial recognition. It was due to be implemented in November and December but I've never heard of it actually being switched on yet. I noticed the hardware in place in October. https://www.tatnews.org/2024/11/aot-rolls-out-biometric-system-to-enhance-passenger-experience-across-six-airports/
  18. Do you really think the US Embassy are going to get involved to any extent?
  19. Wise use mid-market rates so no spread involved. They make their money from their fees which in general are percentage based. When sending currencies where the banks typically have a low spread, eg USD, there comes a point where Wise' percentage overtakes the costs of other methods. I think another poster worked it out at around 20,000 USD in his case but not sure of his Swift fees. For currencies where banks have a bigger spread (bigger than Wise %age fee), the total cost will be less with Wise.
  20. Open accounts with everyone you can and don't tell them you're moving to Thailand. You can then pick and chose how much to keep and where for maximum interest (not mentioned in the OP) and security before sending it using Wise or Swift or whatever to K Bank.
  21. Open an account with a regular High Street bank (more than one bank so you have a backup) and have your pension and any other income paid into it. Then use it to fund Wise' transactions. Get a cheap UK SIM to allow you to get OTPs when you're in Thailand.
  22. They did my extension too but it wasn't mentioned recently when I went in to request they do my 90 day report. Maybe they remembered my face from 7 months ago, but it seems more likely to me that anybody could walk in and request it.
  23. This one? Google says yes and most recent review I saw was 3 months ago.
