I noticed that 50K THB cut off point on a transfer a while back, but forgot about checking/confirming it on subsequent transfers, although another poster later in the thread appeared to confirm it. Walked several miles yesterday - first time for a while - which included Buakhao and some side streets, part of Walking Street and some side streets and the entire length of Beach Road. There are more new/repurposed/renamed/remodeled businesses of all types open or opening soon than I would ever have guessed. No shortage of confidence in business on the ground. My big disappointment was Tin Cups on Buakhao seems to have closed and been stripped. Anyone know if it's closed for good or just being worked on?

Did you have any success as I don't think it's likely to have been a SIM fault and the operator just said that to close the call? There have been other reports of AIS not passing through SMSs from overseas. I have read, although not verified personally, that a workaround is possible by manually selecting another carrier in your settings which cuts AIS out the loop. Even if this involves a small charge (I have no idea if it does) it may be worth it to get what you want.

I too have a pass for later this month and the printout I made when I received it also shows +/-7 days from my arrival date. However, the process now gives +3 days, -0 days as mentioned by TVC above and these time periods come up when I scan mine now. If you scan your QR Codes you will see yours has probably been updated similarily. This probably won't be a problem unless you change your planned travel dates and some jobsworth scans it somewhere and goes by what shows up. If you have changed dates by enough you might want to re-apply for a new pass.

No, the reason is a red herring and should make no difference to what is received in the OP's Thai bank when using Wise.

The delay referred to (until 2:00pm the next day depending on timing) is when users require the transfer to be identified as coming from overseas, usually for visa/extension purposes. This procedure is carried out with recipient acccounts in Bangkok Bank and maybe Kasikorn too. If you are getting instant transfers with the "long term" option selected you must be sending to another bank. Is that correct?

Thailand Pass now gives 3 days from expected date of arrival, not +/- 7 days as before. Mine was issued as pictured above, but now says from 5th June until 8th June. This change is also mentioned on the Thailand Pass website although I've not seen any official publicity regarding it.

It's not 100% clear from the posts, but I think the 300 baht was only charged once on the original transfer. OP: Does "first test" at the start of this post mean first post in this discussion or first post today?

It's convenient and used to be a good method from what I've read, but since the existence of Wise and similar companies it's not the most cost effective.

I'd go with this. I just checked my account and my "ATM/Debit Card Annual Fee" came off on 31st May which looks like it almost coincides with your transfer.

Yes. Here's a clip of mine and it means I can enter any time between 29th May and 12th June. Not sure why yours would give what appears to be a 2 day window when a 15 day window has been in place for a few weeks now, unless you changed or made a mistake with your original travel date.

Sounds unusual so I think we're missing some information. Does your girlfriend hold different currencies in her Wise account? Were you both sending GBP? Can you look at both yours and her PDF receipts from Wise and spot any differences? Does it show up as charges in the BBL account or are you just seeing a difference in amount deposited? Wise from the UK is normally the best option so I can understand you want to get to the bottom of it.

Come on - your advice and posts on many platforms, over many years, with many usernames would indicate there are more than a few gaps in your knowledge.

I've just done a dummy booking on Bolt, entering BKK as my pickup point. It gave me the option of being picked up at arrivals or the parking area and dropped a pin on the map to show me where to go once I'd made my selection, although I'm not sure how clear it was for the parking area! I selected my usual destination and it offered a price of 1,280 baht. Airport taxis are usually around 1,500 baht I believe (never used one) or pre-booked private taxis 1,100 or 1,200 baht. Another dummy booking showed the reverse trip at 6 baht cheaper.

I've used Bolt and the driver called when he was 5 minutes out and we met him on the next but one carriageway across the road from arrivals. No surcharge. This was probably about a year ago so may have changed.
