Surely you mean sockets, not plugs?

Buying Gold.
treetops replied to NoshowJones's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
They're just using a lower spread between buying and selling prices hoping to make up with volume what they lose out on on individual trades. Same as some currency exchanges offer a better deal than others. As long as you do you make sure you're buying what you think there's no reason not to touch them. -
Not sure - I don't use Opera.

I'm sure you would admit your GPT answer was nonsense?

Bur you just wrote that your will was done by a lawyer and was incorrectly done, so maybe not foolproof advice?

Presenting the old passport at check in when he leaves means it will get flagged up as invalid by his home country when they receive the API from the airline, potentially resulting in denied boarding. I'm not sure what the airline would think if presented new and old, but perhaps a supervisor could "fix" the system.

(Another) portable hotspot and annual SIM information request
treetops replied to treetops's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Just to have a laugh and tell me I should have spent a few hundred baht more for a brand named one? ???? OK, here goes: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i4250982040-s16824617902.html -
Check in at International or Domestic terminal at CNX?
treetops replied to neilrob's topic in Chiang Mai
I'm pretty sure all the Thai Airways marketed flights from CNX are operated by Thai Smile, so you'll be looking for their check-in desks. As of last week, when you got to the desk shown on the screens, those with domestic destinations were being re-directed to another totally different desk group. I followed that route so cannot answer with certainty about immigration. -
(Another) portable hotspot and annual SIM information request

I've ordered the GoMo SIM recommended above from AIS and a "no-name" router from Lazada. Hopefully here by the middle of the week and I'll try them out. -
(Another) portable hotspot and annual SIM information request
treetops replied to treetops's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
A mate just sent me this. Plenty data by the look of it and speeds "are not capped". A bit more expensive than those on Lazada. Is it worth pursuing? -
(Another) portable hotspot and annual SIM information request
treetops replied to treetops's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
Indeed, in my defense I was only looking at the main packages, not the top ups! Per the OP, I still have to decide on a router as part of my move to a new system so not looked at individual specs yet. From my brief perusal, the routers I have seen are mainly 4G, not 5G (I've only looked at a couple so far). From my described usage would the slower speeds affect me adversely -
(Another) portable hotspot and annual SIM information request
treetops replied to treetops's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
The channel thing as mentioned and therefore the need to pair it up with a specific spec of router to get the best use, and I don't think it is an AIS product which is my first choice for SIM. I can see the website in English, but don't see the deal you mention. Can you point me in the right direction, and also explain the reference to having a Thai partner? -
I hope I've got the terminology correct and I've read a fair bit in here about them, but by no means confident about what I should be looking for. I'm moving location shortly and it apppears this will be the most efficient method of connecting my laptop and TV stick to the internet in my new digs. The new place has a good signal on the AIS SIM in my phone, so I'm tempted to go straight to AIS rather than experiment with other suppliers. Good idea or not? If anyone keeps an eye on Lazada or wherever, can you tell me the current goto SIM package considering I'm a low volume (I think) user? Laptop browsing several hours a day (occcasional youtube vid), TV usually on for a similar amount of time with occasional sport watching, no torrents. Finally, any recommendations on the portable hotspot required? Maybe more important, anything to really avoid? I've read about issues with the Thunder SIM and it's unique hotspot requirements and although I don't think they'll affect me, is there anything similar waiting to catch me out? Thanks all.

Which branches out of interest?

It's not my claim, just contributing to the conversation. I did check the ONS but couldn't find the breakdown, so please provide a link if you have it. I did subsequently find the link to homicides, hence my query to cleopatra2 whose numbers roughly tie up with those of all homicides, which includes murder and manslaughter. Granted the figures only mention those on probation, not necessarily those convicted of murder but I've since found the original article mentioned by the Bing thingy (link below) and it refers to the figures being derived from so it's not as if they were on probation for minor offences. All of this means the figures given originally appear credible IMO. Here's the original article I found so please direct your incredulity to the publishers (Yahoo News - fairly credible source I think) rather than someone who at least tried to verify the point being discussed with no pre-conceived bias either way. Thank you. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/revealed-shocking-number-of-murders-committed-by-prisoners-on-probation-153200604.html

Don't shoot the messenger ???? Would your homicide figure include manslaughter as well as murder which is what I asked Bing?

Swedish bank notes now useless abroad
treetops replied to webfact's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I think BritScot may be referring to the Canadian Government freezing the bank accounts of participants in the truckers' protests last year? https://www.newsweek.com/banks-have-begun-freezing-accounts-linked-trucker-protest-1680649
