  1. That was the gold standard RCT/PIN crown but if too much tooth decayed/lost is not an option and since implants have become available not in the same league (although still a cheaper and more immediate option in most cases). But once below gum line believe much less a viable option.
  2. Expect that has more to do with policy that cards billing address must match shipping address rather than being a foreign card. Have used my US Chase card as recently as the 13th at Lazada with no issues. But my address is listed in Thailand for the card.
  3. Have not had any issues using more than one transfer in a month. Wise has a work around to almost always get transfer directly to BBL (account is tagged). Have never required bank statement with just international transfers (but normal account balance bank letter is needed). This at Bangkok Immigration.
  4. The issue for me is that the 800k is designed to show we have the funds for the next year stay they are granting us but now they have taken access away. As many of us with insurance have to pay up front that money should be available to use in all cases. For those married it presents in case of death issues as it requires court action for spouse to legally use and that take time. Yes there were some messing with money but almost all such cases were agent assisted - but as all too often the short stick goes to those that were honest.
  5. I took it as such at the time but have not seen any recent reports (mine was many years ago - and note/medical certificate was provided as an option - but to obtain Medical Certificate would have involved travel - which was the issue).
  6. Actually years ago I was required to have wife visit immigration to confirm her knowledge prior to approval - there reasoning being Thailand as a joint property state wife has valid interest in anything that may be a sign marriage may be going down the tubes (but suspect more to do with first officers answer can not be wrong).
  7. In that case probably be cost effective and much more reliable to visit clinic/hospital every six months or so as most of us get to the margin area with age. Strips are very expensive for the reliable makes and if not used often can easily become outdated. Also less pain with less pricks. Will add the HbA1c test does not require fasting and provides an average over previous 3 months so doing that every 3 months would provide a close check of conditions. It is what wife has been using for least several decades - and she is diabetic and medication is based on these tests. She not a fan for self pin pricking and not much more so of someone else doing.
  8. Many of us use the banks that have no such limit so not an issue. As far as fees it will not be that much more to send several transfers for most people as most Wise fees are amount transferred based rather than event based. And my understanding is this is not a Wise issue but a Thailand issue. As for hassle have not found using Wise to be a hassle at all and normally make 2 transfers as pay from two US bank accounts.
  9. It likely would be cost effective to just pay any extra for the XL version if the smaller ink volume is not available. 935xl seems to be easily available.
  10. This is normally a test made before operation to insure the right lens is used and was a separate room/computer before operation in my case so not hard to forget:
  11. As you mention this was immediate wonder if they performed measurements on your eyes to determine lens required. Normally this is a separate computer laser or ultrasound procedure in my understanding and what I received.
  12. Expect it is the size of stone prompting recommendation to operate as normally not needed unless you have symptoms that make you want (from my reading) but of that size it seems they can also become a cancer issue so probably best to have operation. You do not want cancer if you can avoid (been there skin, bladder and liver) I have several of .4 to .7cm gallstones but nothing like the over inch size you report. Wife had operation 2 years ago - in her case had symptoms and 79 so doctors recommended doing then as after age 80 they did not routinely perform. Cost was 215,000 in a well rated private Bangkok hospital. Quick recovery from a very simple operation with nothing more than minor laparoscopy cuts.
  13. We obviously live in different neighborhoods - yours perhaps newer - as this is the normal gate lock on homes in my Bangkok mooban built in 1975 and most people have on current gates (most have been replaced a few times). Very much a common item here - but admit may be less so for new construction. The best path if unable to find would be hire worker, but as poster says that is an issue currently for Bangkok and little construction and many places closed so those that are qualified returned upcountry and for small repair job can not afford travel. Not sure a locksmith would have any experience on this but might be an option as I had to fit a different model lock when unable to find any 4 screw mount models some years ago - luckily it has not failed.
  14. The fact that they do not say it is not perhaps? It is clearly labeled as doing what we expect from a lubricant.
  15. You should use an official rate for the actual day of income - very easy to do with this or other web sites: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/
  16. Passbook updates are normally required on day of application at Bangkok I believe.
  17. Perhaps the guilt for those that came before? Many of those that served in Viet Nam era without a choice received very bad treatment during and after there service by those opposed to government policy and in most cases bore little responsibility but often suffered greatly. Since that time it has become a paid job rather than requiring all to serve so those now not having to serve are saying thanks. Yes it can be made a political slogan if that is your point; but in general believe most are thankful.
  18. Will add that believe accepting joint accounts, even with 2x the money, seemed to become less welcome the last few years. Many places seem to require your name only, which can be an issue for quick access in the event of death.
  19. Indeed not a general but this is a Thai Navy rank directly below Rear Admiral and above Army Captain.
  20. Suspect there could have been an issue with the savings account also as that has to be monitored 3 months after and 2 months prior to prove the 800k in account when required. They seem to be able to read one year bank statements (often required for us using income and of US/UK nationality) so perhaps would like that as well as passbook for the 100k plus account. But as said making the fixed 800k would likely be the easy path.
  21. Well, Yeah - most of us are more than long in the tooth (if we even have any).????
  22. Check brand name as they indeed are not the same here - several major brands but screw holes may not match up and believe they have changed over the years so best to remove and take (at least the front plate) to try and match up. I gave up last time and just replaced the lock part itself and continued to use the old steel.
  23. My memory was 3 banks but you are right it was TMB rather than SCB. But they are very fluid so would not exclude possibility they also are using SCB now. Dee money seemed to appear out of nowhere a few months ago.
  24. Every store shelf in Thailand - Haiter is name as above. It is the same type bleach as Clorox. It is listed as Sodium Hypochlorite. Expect more powerful chlorine would be available from any pool supply store.
  25. Guess the computer gods have not taken action yet. I am not using Android.????
