  1. Some now reporting death was from covid. Indeed a unique singer.
  2. No list of countries per TAT. https://twitter.com/Tatnews_Org/status/1484311782873174019/photo/1
  3. Do not believe applications for test and go are available for another 2 weeks.
  4. Have not seen any mention of flooding. With cement you mop up - with gypsum you rebuild. And almost all homes are subject to flooding here. One month after leaving USA had to return to rebuild house in Homestead after Andrew hit (1992) and have ever since been more than glad to have solid brick/cement construction of Thailand.
  5. Unless his bedroom is the size of a ballroom or he requires meat locker temps believe the unit mentioned likely more than enough (if based on recommended room size of advertisement). We are more than happy with 9k units in our 26sm bedrooms here in Bangkok (but admit prefer 27c or 28c temps with low humidity after being here several decades).
  6. Illegal Pork? Livestock department officials impound 211,360 tonnes of pork meat at a cold storage in Songkhla province for inspection on Thursday.
  7. It was likely money from family - this is a variation on a very common and old scam here - wanted by police but money can make it go away. Only requires most basic bio data (which is all too easily obtained here) to make a story that is often believed, even by those with no such involvement. In most cases not real police involved but they are tarred and people become even more paranoid.
  8. But there are a number of makes so not sure what pressures that all produce, suspect some are higher pressure and compete with Grundfos - we run our Grundfos 3.5 - 4 Bar and works well for good shower pressures.
  9. A pin hole would not be uncommon as they do rust - new tanks are available but if you want more pressure probably better to buy pump that can provide. Believe the new box constant pressure pumps are generally higher pressure (although some are louder than a jet plane) but changed to Grundfos many years ago to overcome the shower issues (very good/quite and high pressure pumps). But be aware any increase in pressure could cause issues for some plumbing here - we had to redo our house built on 1975 to new pipes (external now and really not that hard or expensive to do).
  10. Moccona Select has been my favorite since meeting the wife in 1969 and still prefer to more expensive instants. The jars however are a clear and present danger before having your first cup of coffee - pinched my fingers in them countless times so buy bags and put contents into a normal screw top empty coffee jar these days.
  11. Maybe not quite - only high side of 79 and sliding down the hill.
  12. Can't remember for sure but believe the yeast requires sugar to activate? I gave up cooking 60 years ago.
  13. Any hospital should be able to do and there is no medicine involved (if you do need you can buy anywhere) - yes a small hospital/doctor fee every 3 to 6 months and the procedure fee but total should not be that much most places and you can actually be under a doctors treatment if gets worse.
  14. The name for last several decades has been BNH Hospital - Nursing Home was dropped when they went high rise from the colonial garden experience.
  15. You did want a high quality set I guess - I would have gone with this 600 baht 24 piece Chinese set for occasional use (but suspect if you use a bit will be worth the investment). https://shopee.co.th/Euro-King-tools-เครื่องมือช่าง-1-2-(4หุน)-SOCKET-SET-(24ตัว-ชุด)-มาตรฐานเยอรมัน-i.201102070.7208739692?sp_atk=ab067e6c-af82-4d3a-8031-4be51f403047
  16. Have you taken to the Land Office? Would seem first port of call if they suggested doing it.
  17. As said they seem normal in a quick Shopee check. But sockets can be both metric or inch sizes (often both).
  18. That was two years ago it seems - so well expired. As said in above DrJack54 post he applies for a non immigrant O visa at Immigration for retirement extension of stay using funds already on deposit within the first 15 days after arrival. Cost is 2,000 baht. Later he applies from non O visa for one year extension of stay for retirement at 1,900 baht.
  19. It will likely involve lawyer getting paperwork from those in family/those who knew her and having it reviewed by local officials to say she was born there. It is not a DIY project as far as I know but is something that can be done as many Thai, even if they had certificates, have lost them and storage used to be local with no central registry as now so many were lost to vermin and fire. Does she know what was used to obtain ID card?
  20. An alternative for most things is Google Maps. https://goo.gl/maps/BUj1fjrz9cm4yqF9A
  21. I hope this is the lens maker (optician) and any testing is done by a doctor. Even optometrists are rare here with ophthalmologists performing their function in most places.
  22. Did you explain you were having issues each time? Or was it more time to check? Cataract is normally not an issue in itself and only requires removal if it causing problems. So if you said something like having serious night driving issue to first doctor but not to second? If not causing issues normally not a need for operation. If a trip to Bangkok possible https://www.rutnin.com/en/about/ is well recommended and have used myself - very popular with Thai at less than major private hospital costs - very busy but well controlled queue system and English is fine.
  23. Do not live in area so can not provide personal recommendation but Google Maps search can provide very good information for any area (as below). https://goo.gl/maps/tRqCmQWLQiS6Csrt9
  24. And just used 20 minutes ago for a Tops order processed by 2C2P with instant approval.
