  1. Believe most solar panels charge a battery that holds the power so you need to know the battery capacity for how long they will provide power and the solar panel capacity for charging the battery and then the power required by lamp and the lumen output of the actual lamp (not all LED's need or provide the same power). As panels will at best be at highest capacity for limited time and even then weather/dirt/dust will make a huge impact - this is really not for the faint of heart. Signing out.
  2. Did you scroll down? After those 3 on web there is an option to start new topic - and then a page of locked topics before you get to current content. It is one of the most active sub forums.
  3. Did you check? "Tomorrow im taking 100,000 out with me," Did you get an early start?
  4. But the rule would be general - all have to abide. As normal those shorting the system cause issues for those playing by the rules.
  5. Retirement extension is a local office decision - so it seems that office wants to confirm physical location prior to approving and using the under consideration/home visit to do so. Edit: this may be an attempt to weed out agent supported applications for persons not actually living in that area.
  6. I needed to replace a normal round opaque gate lamp a few months ago and just about everything is solar (small panel on top - unseen as pole puts it above peoples heads). They were cheap so ordered one (which also had socket for normal 220v LED lamp). Have turned LED off and only use with electric LED light. built in light was dim at best and only lasted 2-4 hours before flashing on/off all night. As said - was cheap and can use on AC power so nothing lost but fair warning that all is not golden just because it has solar panel, and that panel better have good access to sun most of the day.
  7. And here I thought the UK was on board with equal rights for all - and that most such families would became dual income households - not that one had to support spouse.
  8. Actual AQI runs up to 171 currently in Bangkok. https://www.iqair.com/us/thailand/bangkok/chaiyaphruek-ramindra-chatuchot-village
  9. Interesting as mine was late June and also has (different wording) short notation that wife translates as "money transfers". So looks like they have corrected that issue.
  10. Make sure they know you are using income method to extend if you continue to keep 800k in bank account - had issue this year as have always used income but had 800k in account at last extension (in case of any transfer issues) and took the 800k lower in less than 3 months after extension - so this year immigration believed I had failed to maintain required amount. Seems they do not have any indication of which method you used without reviewing last years paperwork. All was well once that checked. But have to mention each year using income as once they see the 800k they believe that is to be used. Edit: key to knowing they using income at CW seems to be officer underlines each monthly transfer on bank statement for reviewing officers check.
  11. But OP says it is a retirement visa and does not mention any border hops - are agents sending passports on international 90 day border trips again?
  12. Which might make Philippines a good alternative - it would not require nest egg of 800k as you can live there 3 years on a tourist visa and pay as you go. And living outside cities can be quite cheap. But things go slow and infrastructure/food will not be anywhere near Thailand. But on the other hand people can be very nice. Not sure of costs to maintain entry in Cambodia but that might also work.
  13. So you have been entering Thailand every 15 months visa exempt or with tourist visa and agent was converting to non immigrant O visa entry for 90 days to allow TM7 extension of stay for retirement? The age requirement has not changed. But it seems you do not meet the normal financial requirements and that the alternative 'agent' method is now being closed. As has been said there are alternative destinations to explore if not tied to Thailand and you wish to explore them. As for Thailand things can change from one day to another so you might be able to find another door if this is now closed or temporarily move to greener pastures if not.
  14. Are the cataracts causing the sight issues? Until they cause issues there is no need to remove. And doing both eyes at same time is not a normal practice (infections can occur and much better to have at least one good eye). For most people single vision lens (cheapest) is all that is needed - reading glasses are normal for old age and cheap. The multi vision types can be problematic. All in price at a government hospital likely in the 25-35k range and at most private hospitals under 100k each. Price has greatly increased in the last decade at hospital try to make more money. My single vision were 35k each at a high rated Bangkok private hospital about 10 years ago. I would defiantly get a second opinion and Rutnin is a very good choice for that.
  15. That is why I said should be about. Actually posters have reported issues when not near the same time as did not appear to be pension payment in that case. This was a real issue when method first started but believe may be less so now that most officers can read bank statements easily. I would still recommend about the same time.
  16. If you are asking about the non immigrant O-A visa you get the information from your home country Thai Embassy/Consulate section (requirements vary by country). That provides a one year stay on arrival and if multi entry (valid for one year) an entry on last day of validity would still provide one year stay from that date. The current issue with this visa is that special medical insurance is required for full time of any stay so can be a bit difficult to coordinate for those able to get insurance and a nightmare for those too old for insurance. Also any extension of stay from such a visa entry continues to require the medical insurance.
  17. At the current low costs highly advise replacement - and yes old models could corrode but most have been plastic for many years now.
  18. Maybe they have changed in that case - was always reported to be 45 days but did not use appointment system this year and only about 24 days early. Sorry if old information from old mind. Know they were hot to make people wait until last minute during Covid (somehow they seemed to have believed that helped control crowds?) so guess they have reduced (at least for appointments).
  19. Agents do not issue visas or extensions of stay - and are not a legal means to obtain more than assistance in getting such from a Consulate or Immigration.

  21. Actually Thai do pay unless at their assigned hospital - which in many cases is not where they currently live or receive treatment.
  22. Obviously if charged she was not using free health care - anyone can use public hospitals on a paying basis. She was treated to the officially allowed foreigner charge for hospital service it seems - although there does not seem to be any mention of this being a government hospital in report.
