I always buy duck eggs there. There is only a small stall with a young lady. She sells both ducks and hen eggs.

Dual Pricing in Thai Tourism: Economic Necessity or Hidden Bias?
Espanol replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Dual pricing, if any, should not be for Thais and foreigners, but for residents and tourists. -

British Man Collides With Pedestrian in Pattaya Big Bike Crash
Espanol replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
"Witnesses painted a vivid picture of the incident. According to bystanders, Surat appeared heavily intoxicated and had staggered onto the road directly in the motorcycle’s path. The collision, they claimed, was unavoidable. -
"land sold to foreigners should first transfer to state management under the Treasury Department. This proposal would let foreigners lease the land for up to 99 years, keeping land ownership with the state after lease expiry." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So I'm buying the land from a Thai and I'm giving it to the state. Before, at least it returned to the Thai owner after the rental period. Now, not only will foreigners not want to buy, but Thais will not want to sell either.

Indeed. It was not his loss. It was Obama's and Kamala's loss. -

If you are European, you can request the free N26 or Revolut cards to pay outside the Eurozone without fees and at the official exchange rate. The British can no longer use them since Brexit. In fact, Revolut was in the UK but after Brexit they moved to the Baltic Republics.
-
No. If I book again the same trip, they still maintain the original rate. About the original trip in Bolt, they display as cancelled and made a new trip 30 minutes later at the new rate, as shown in my previous post.
-
I assume that you mean songtaew, not tuk-tuk. The price for the service is 10 baht anywhere. You don't even need to talk with the driver, just give him 10 baht and go. However, occasionally, some drivers ask 20 baht when the distance is long, as going from Jomtien to Terminal 21, or from Walking Street to Naklua.
-
It's more convenient to me because I don't need to handle cash and withdraw money from ATM continuously. In Europe I always pay card and this is my default option in Bolt. Indeed, I will pay cash in the future and will never select again the Bolt->Taxi option.
-
Taxis using Bolt. So now we need to avoid Bolt->Taxi and use Bolt->Economy instead. And always pay cash.
-
I have already received the incredible response from Bolt: In the Bolt -> Taxi service, regardless of the rate offered, and despite having already paid for it, the taxi driver will turn on the taximeter and at the end of the service the payment made will be cancelled and I will be billed for what the taximeter shows. 😳 For that I don't need to hire Bolt's services, I just have to get into any taxi, pay whatever the taximeter says and that's it. The advantage of Bolt was that I booked the service and knew in advance what it was going to cost me. If that advantage no longer exists, I won't hire the Bolt-Taxi service again.
-
In all cases it was with the Bolt -> Taxi option They show only the total price of the taxi fare plus 20 baht commision for Bolt. When you enter the option to claim the service, you are warned that the price may change if: - There is traffic on the route - Tolls had to be paid - I made additional stops during the trip - I changed the destination in the middle of the journey - The driver changed the route I suppose that drivers report some of these incidents and the company charges an extra fee. Which in all cases is approximately three times as much.
-
Yesterday I ordered a Bolt and at the end of the trip they cancelled the charge and charged me three times as much. I called Bolt and they immediately cancelled the extra charge. Today my wife and I each took a Bolt: one to the bus station and the other to the apartment. Both drivers applied the extra charge. I called Bolt again but they say they have to check it and it's been several hours. In all cases it was with the Bolt -> Taxi option Previously, Bolt drivers din't accept passengers who pay by card because it seems the company takes more than a month to pay them for the service; now it seems they have discovered a new, more profitable trick.
-
I don't know, but they do it somehow. I think that they tell to the company about traffic jam, or customer not in the place and have to wait for him.
-
3 times in a row in two days: I order a Bolt, accept the fare shown, pay with my card, and when the service is over the driver cancels the charge and charges me a new one for TRIPLE or more of the initial fare. I will not pay with the card again and from now on I will only pay in cash.

If you go to the administration to ask about short-term rentals, they will give you the Line of the person who rents them. I suppose they take some commission.

I took my automatic watch in because the rotating bezel had become blocked. He was unable to unlock it, but the watch stopped working. I was surprised at the speed with which he returned the watch to me when I went to pick it up, saying that he couldn't do anything about it, that he wouldn't charge me anything, and that I should go away. I think he dropped it on the floor or hit it. I consider it a place to change batteries and little else.
