Brother & sis popped over for a visit, mid February this year, and I don't think Trump was mentioned once. If not for AN, Trump & USA, or the world actually, wouldn't enter my mind. I like reading & writing, keeps brain active, though prefer everyday living (non politics), O&A, food, health, EV, drone & photography. But I'm out of torrents

Not surprised Trump won at all. Just wish he didn't Harris as president, that was never going happen. Her word salads were classic. She truly only had 2 things going for her; being female & mixed race, and only appealed to the most ignorant person. As soon as she started campaigning, she was done. Why they kept Biden in his basement, instead of him on campaign trail

McDonald's suffers worst U.S. sales decline since 2020

National Parks or nearby. RV, with enough kitchen & shower. No overnight rents. Way off the beaten track. -
Sad to say, Pres Trump is the best one, in my almost adult life up to now. That would be starting with ... ... LBJ, a true embarrassment, and you'd think it couldn't get any worse One after another, simply got more embarrassing, until the 21st, then the USA & NATO member countries all hit a new low. Killing at leas 1 mill, and probably displacing another 10 mill. And y'all think RU & CN are the evil ones How any of you can respect any of your govts is mind boggling. Impossible to be any worse than his predecessor or Biden, so with that, Trump is actually the best. Although, probably the worse for me and my interest. Since he's a big fan of weak USD, and inflation is already down. So not expecting any nice COLA the next 4 years, along with a crap exchange rate. In that aspect, makes Biden the best, for me, and why I wanted Harris to win.

High Interest Savings. Suggestions Please.
KhunLA replied to beginner's topic in Cryptocurrency News
If you are renting, and seems you'll be in TH for a long time, then consider buying a condo. Put the 2M in a higher interest account, even if 2-2.5%. Borrow the money for the condo, using that account as 100% security (collateral against mortgage), so no income needed, or buy flat out, which ever works best for you. Your ROI is the lack of paying rent. 2M condo @ minimum worth ~15k a month rent saved = ~100% ROI in about 12 years, and still have the principle / equity of condo, and no real risk of losing money. As rents go up, ROI is higher. If your situation changes, you can always rent it out, or sell. No loss, as long as in it for first 5 yrs. Should break even on a quick sale, if needed. Although 5 years of 15k a month saved (900k), is a nice return also. -

leach line .... 8k inspect ... 0.8k water line ... 8k pole replace ... 6k Total 22.8k ... cost more than my 1st house in TH, which sat on 1 rai. If ever, (never), I'd be a nomadic RV living free spirit. That place really is getting silly over there. -

Just curious, as I prefer to debate with educated people, but many Yanks haven't a clue how govt works, and find non Yanks even more ignorant. To state I was deflecting, shows huge ignorance on posters part. Oh well, apparently just another keyboard warrior, stirring it up, and looking foolish in the process. -

Are you a US citizen and or live in the USA ? Guessing you are with the username 'BLM F'em' -
That's not deflecting, that points out his motive, a Kentucky Senator, taking care of his constituents. Exactly what he should be doing, his job. Although, short sighted when it comes to the future and security of the USA, since dependent on other countries. As if covid supply chain issues didn't point that out. But great talking points come elections ... "I voted against tariffs, as it hurt our auto industry" To not know why he is against tariffs, just points out your ignorance. Politicians don't do anything without a reason, and it's usually self serving. Wake up to reality, politician care about one thing ... getting reelected.

Maybe MAGA should be ... MAAA ... Make America Affordable Again USA is great, if you already own your final home, and can still afford the RE taxes, and manage your health. Or your income is $100,000 a year as a single person. $200k if married & $300k if wanting children ... -
With that, auto tariffs, do you really think Rand cares about the USA, or just (see below) just to protect Kentucky's auto manufacturing ... All these years of auto makers exporting parts manufacturing for more profit margin, is coming back to bite the auto industry on the butt. Where were the votes to have tariffs in place before manufacturing went overseas ?
-
Tariffs are good for the USA, unless of course, you don't 'buy USA'. Lack of manufacturing is why the USA is in the state it is. Why CN is blowing by as a 1st world country, while USA is slipping further & further behind. Just look how low tech and or expensive the auto market is there. Few options of the better vehicles TH has on offer. Along with affordable solar systems to give you independence of the monopolies. Not being on the grid or having to buy petrol is true FREEDOM. If not 'buying USA', then don't complain about the economy, less jobs, higher taxes, less state & federal services supplied, and the crappy roadways. Live with your choices ... Those younger and or planning to live in the USA, need to get on board, or things are simply going to get worse. Som nam naa

He can do that, but it won't hold, since executive order. This might explain how he can that, but, if anyone challenges, they'd probably win. Did he actually impose any new tariffs ? I don't follow that closely or care, since I don't live in USA. https://www.cfr.org/report/tariffs-trading-partners-can-president-actually-do

I agree with what Paul (Rep Senator) is saying ... BUT ... Trump is not raising tariffs, he is negotiating trade deals with the threat of raising tariffs. Quite a difference. And trade deals signed, have to be approved by Congress. He knows this, so once again, it just proves the corrupt 535 career politicians are against anything Trump does. They simply don't want Trump derailing their 'gravy train'.

Spot on. What use to be an entry level, first job experience (now career), paying minimum wage (fed) of <$8.00, has doubled. Those places that relied on late teens, retirees, earning a bit or supplementing their in , with unskilled, low salaries to be competitive, no longer can be competitive, when covering overhead. That snowballed to other skilled business that started at more than minimum wage, and increased with your knowledge, training and certification, also had to raise their wages to get employees. Apply to learn a trade, with job that offers $10 or $12 to start, and you think why bother, when I can flip burgers for $15, now $17. Short sighted, but when young & dumb. It's a good thing salaries went up, but for unskilled, non career positions is a bit silly. All that adds to inflation. Now that you earn more money, we can charge more the basic living needs. Thank Biden & Dems ... AI Overview Learn more McDonald's announced it would raise wages at its company-owned restaurants, with the average hourly wage increasing to $13, and some locations reaching $15 an hour later in 2021. The company's plan was for average hourly wages to reach $15 by 2024. Additionally, the entry-level wage for new employees was increased to a range of $11 to $17 per hour -
Damn you Trump ...

I can't remember last time I had anything from McD, as they really are too inconsistent (hot / cold). You really do have to special order any sandwich if you want it to be hot. Or pay attention to what is made and sitting in the rack. Plus for Burger King, as Whoppers are reheated every time, and the charring puts them a level above. Still need a Double Whopper to taste the meat though. KFC's Zingers & Wing Zaps, can bit hit & miss, but still better than McD. Can't recall last time I had any chain fast food, except Pizza Co, when having 2 for 1 promo. The price is just too silly when compared to a meal at ma/pa restaurant, or even a nice cafe. Had a lovely Lamb Massaman the other day at comfy cafe, and cheaper the most options at above mention chains. https://aseannow.com/topic/1304478-what-did-you-have-for-breakfast/page/27/#findComment-19775356 Even cheaper was a Chicken Massaman from ma/pa shop, 60 baht for thigh, piece of tater & roti. Got 4 take aways, for later at the house. Both places more delicious. No reason to eat at chains. -

If on Thai roads quite a bit, and smog season, then I can understand it. As getting stuck behind vehicles, especially diesels is no joy. Thankfully traffic not bad in our semi rural area & small town. But when stuck at a traffic light, it really sucks when on the scooter. But for protection from bacteria or viruses ...
