    It makes sense because the credit card will block the purchase amount on your card against your credit limit but you will have to pay monthly. The seller has the guarantee that you will pay your installments. Without the credit card there is a risk of default for the seller. I use this system all the time for larger purchases.

    Certain banks only, for example Bangkok Bank, Krungsri, Kasikorn. If you go below the secured deposit your credit card limit will decrease accordingly. But you have to apply and sign the new limit first. You cannot just withdraw the pledged funds.

    You need to show a work permit and salary paid in Thailand. Alternatively you can apply for a secured credit card. In this case you have to deposit an amount as security which you cannot withdraw as long as you have the credit card.

    The details about to tax foreigners in Thailand are not even exactly specified by parliament. There are still discussions going on. Nobody knows exactly what will be required next year. Until now I was not required to declare taxes here because my for my income withholding tax is already deducted here. I am not in panic mode like most of other members here.

    OK, for large private investors you are correct, there is a capital gain tax for gains overseas. For the majority of us smaller investors I believe it is irrelevant for us. The Thai tax authorities do not have any interest in that.

    Banks have started to ask for customers TAX TIN number. It is not longer enough to tell your tax residency.

    At least for the Thai SET capital gains are tax free here. I doubt that in reality it will apply to international investing for smaller individual investors. Let's wait and see. Until now there is nothing really clear for the new law.

    I doubt that capital gains (share gains of investments) overseas will be taxed here as Thailand does not have a capital gain tax for individual investors.

    If using multiple SIM cards or e-SIM cards you have to make yourself familiar with the settings-connections-Sim manager menu. It is just a tip with your finger to change the different options.

    A consultation alone will not cost you a fortune if no treatment is done yet. In my case the problem is venous insufficiency. But important is to know what is really the problem. It can lead to thrombosis and blood clots if not properly diagnosed and treated. The doctor told me that especially on longer flights I must wear the compression socks because of the risks involved.

    You have to consult a specialist for veins. I also have lots of varicose veins and consulted with a doctor. He advised against it because of probable side effects. I was given long compression socks to prevent further deterioration and to get relief. Of course this depends on the case and only a vein specialist can give you the answers.

    All surgeries come with risks, it prolongs lives, it does not mean that you will be immortal. Without the surgeries most probably all would have died.

    The report does not mention that the risk is high. It is just a comparison of one particular trial of 2 different procedures.

    The risk to die is very low for a stent procedure. But it can happen in rare cases.
