Chance would be a f$%king fine thing. Blaming the rise on "community activities for the spike" is only part of the equation, the other is the total inadequate supply of vaccines to the south. Bangkok, Phuket, Samui etc have been the focus, the south has not. Then the government goes ahead and opens up interprovincial travel which only serves to further the spread the virus.

If you couldn't get the hospital to generate one for you, then the other options would be: getting a yellow book and pink card, though having tried this in Hat Yai (and failed) it's not at all easy and seems to be a lottery dependent on where you live registering for a tax number, this appears to be the easier option (though I've not tried). The tax office should issue you one if you live here long term and say you need it to claim tax back on investments in your home country

Malaysia Portugal Indonesia Long term visas are a possible issue, Malaysia is in the process of totally screwing its MM2H programme up in the quest for high rolling unicorns. So it might be half a year in Indonesia and half in Malaysia. I worked in Portugal before and enjoyed it, not sure how long stay works now post Brexit.
