5G Androids are always backwards compatible with 4G and 3G?
KhunBENQ replied to JimmyJ's topic in Mobile Devices and Apps
My simplified assumption: it's about buying a new 5G phone in Thailand for use in Thailand. -

Never noticed that there is a 5G only phone. Would be worthless. Of course in most cases they will fall back to 4G/LTE which is the basic coverage over the country. 3G either abolished or in the process. -
New O-A Extension Insurace
KhunBENQ replied to mrbeerguy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I am in the "under consideration" period waiting for my Non O to pickup on August 11 (not 12 as they stamped, a holiday!). It's a bit of an effort, border run and three visits at immigration until you have the new one year extension. But after that you are free to decide what kind of insurance you need (if any). Thai based insurances? No thanks. From all I read: first major claim paid and then get kicked out. -
Sure I am not the first to fall in this trap and I should know about Thai holidays, mea culpa. But that immigration stamps you to come back on a holiday? Just realized when reading about the oncoming holiday closures (July 28 and 29, August 12). Should I try my luck on Thursday, August 11? Monday 15 is the last admitted until day.

Durian is yet another league.

Even at our local Makro I saw Mangosteen last week or so. Just for a price like 50 Baht/kilo instead of 15 Baht seasonal.

Hopeless. Over and out.

Serving food and drinks allowed again effective July 14.

Last week or so I read that on board service will be allowed again.

None Really there is nothing more to write. Since months no more Covid 19 related measures for domestic travel. Been flying three times from Bangkok to Khon Kaen this year. Nothing. OK, mask wearing in airport and on board.

In the basement of Central Festival on beach road there is a medical supply shop. I remember having seen things like wheelchairs. Worth a look. Boots and Watson's just a short walk away.

How to get Thai Drivers licence
KhunBENQ replied to TheLaughingMan's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
What license/country do you have? Thread is in the Motorcycles forum. So you ask about motorcycle license? -
Bangkok Bank Required for Retirement Extension
KhunBENQ replied to Joeb's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Mystical 800k+ that you never had on your newly opened account and getting extension without following seasoning rules is lawful. OK I never stop learning. Agent says: all I need is your passport and "the money". The money being his 25k fee. -
Have you ever visited a (government) medical facility without blood pressure check Also at private hospital that they checked for everyone (last year). As far as I remember from the campaign at the village health center, they hesitate at BP > 160. Let you sit and cool down. Try again.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday July 29 (Friday this week) would be last then (if they don't extend).

Ignoring the problem lead my father to walk (or mostly not) with a catheter and plastic bag bound to the leg). Problem will get worse and worse and one day the flow is completely clogged. My father collapsed with stroke and blood pressure 200. Emergency catheterizing at hospital emptying liters of urine.

Bangkok Bank Required for Retirement Extension

Again you miss a point. Some unlucky nationals do not get a confirmation from embassy/consul anymore (since long). One of them is among the biggest groups of posters here: USA. -

Position and movement of sun in the Thailand
KhunBENQ replied to FrederikKitten's topic in DIY Forum
It's a bit more complicated. Sun paths for northern Thailand June and December: In June ALL of Thailand gets sun from the north more or less. In December ALL of Thailand gets sun from the south more or less. South is currently a shady place around our house. -
Luggage checked through Vienna - Chiang Mai???
KhunBENQ replied to Barley's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Bangkok Airways? Well there were kind of transit flights through to Phuket and/or Samui during the "sandbox" times. These PG flights were exclusive only for incoming international and you were tunneled to these flight (could not be booked as domestic). I must admit I don't know whether such still exists (doubt it) and whether they did it to CNX (also doubt it). -

No and no. Happy to be proven wrong. You change planes/airlines and BKK to CNX is a purely domestic flight. Would you unveil the PG flight number? -
Position and movement of sun in the Thailand
KhunBENQ replied to FrederikKitten's topic in DIY Forum
Ask a Chiang Mai resident where the sun shine comes from in December As written Thailand 1600 km N/S (1000 miles). Makes a significant difference. As a Phuket residence about position of the sun: what's that? It's upward
