Just a quick question please - Visa on arrival for Irish

Featured Replies

Anyone confirm that Irish citizens can get a 30 days visa on arrival for the Kingdom?

Thanks all

Visa Exempt on arrival you get 30 days. You can extend that for 30 more days for 1900 baht at an immigration office before the end of your 30 days.

As stated, Irish citizens cannot get a visa on arrival (which only gives a 15-day stay anyway) but instead receive a visa exempt entry of 30 days.

Yes.

A Visa on Arrival is only given to a few nationalities and gives a stay of 15 days. 1,000 Baht.

You will get 30 days Visa Exempt that you can extend by 30 days at Immigration.

When you arrive do NOT go to the Visa on Arrival line. Instead go to the normal immigration lines for non-Thais and you will get a 30 day visa exempt permission to enter as per what others have already said.

Much easier to apply in dublin for a 30 day visa, you will have it at your door in 3 days from the time you post it.If you check it out on the internet it tells you what you need to do,passport return stamped addressed envelope and the fee,i forget how much but not much anyway. Its the easiest way no hassle in thailand immigration.ps,has to be by post in Ireland.good luck.

Not sure which visa you are writing about.

I doubt he would want to get a transit visa that allows a 30 day entry. Better to apply for a tourist visa that allows a 6O day entry.

Which visa do you think gives someone a 30 day entry?

Which visa do you think gives someone a 30 day entry?
Obvious he means a tourist visa but he said 30 days rather than 60, big deal

Why would you pay for this alleged mysterious "30 day visa" when you get 30 days free by just showing up??

Considering he is talking to someone who doesn't know how to use Google I would say it was a huge mistake.

Since the O/P is asking about "visas on arrival," which are not available to Irish citizens, sending him off to seek an equally unavailable 30 day visa isn't particularly helpful. If getting a tourist visa were an obvious (to the O/P) option , he probably wouldn't be asking about getting a "visa on arrival."

Maybe we should close the forum and just use Google? Most answers are there already somewhere

No.  The forum serves a purpose.  That all or nothing mentality is foolish.  But when literally typing in your question verbatim into Google pops the accurate answer out right on top yes, it should be used.  Are you in some way a hater of instant accurate information?  Seems a bizarre way to go through life always waiting for some random person on a random internet forum to send you a message telling you what to do who might be right or might be wrong.  Seems like a form of mental illness if you ask me.

Not exactly accurate. The 15 days at border crossings rule was rescinded on January 1st of this year when the 2 entries at land border crossings per calendar year rule went into effect.

Notice no-one has informed the OP that as well as getting 30 days on visa exempt he would be advised to have a hotel booking, flight out booked and 20,000 baht or equivalent in dollars or sterling and don't buy the baht before travelling because the exchange rate is crap or that the airline may ask to see a return flight before letting him board the plane.

Just sayin'

Seems like a form of mental illness if you ask me.

Talk about jump to conclusions. Is that not a form of mental illness?

Will only need a visa if you intend to stay more than 30 days.

Also then, you do not need to make a Visa, but you can if you like.

If you enter with the -Visa Exempt- entry solution, which gives you a 30 day allowance to stay,

you can apply at a Thai Immigration office inside Thailand and can get an extension of +30 days for a 1.900 Baht fee

But - you will need a Visa, if you intend to stay more then 60 days.

Tourist Visa = 60 days - and you can apply at a Thai Immigration and can get an extension of +30 days for 1.900 B.

or,

Non Immigrant "O",  1 entry. if you qualify - gives you 90 days of stay:thumbsup:

There are more possibilities
