18-wheeler crashes through Nong Khai house roof

By The Nation

Residents of a house in Nong Khai’s Mueang district woke up to find that an 18-wheel tractor trailor truck had crashed into their home early on Saturday.

The truck’s front end stuck through the roof of the one-storey house.

Pol Lt-Colonel Bamrung Naebkidchai, deputy inspector of Mueang Nong Khai police station, said the accident happened at 1.30am on a main road in Ban Yai Dong Charoen village in Tambon Phonesawang.

Nobody in the house was injured.

Bamrung said the truck was fully loaded with Eucalyptus tree logs. Truck driver Adul Chonlatee, 38, waited for police at the scene. He suffered a minor injury to his right hand.

He said he had lost control when his truck entered the curve and it slammed into the house, Bamrung said.

Loosing control is normal when maintenance is unknown.

Maintenance, what's that. Doesn't translate in thai. Just ask the airline industry.
