Waterland Golf Course - Phitsanulok

This is a little gem of a course, operated by Hee-Won Han ... LPGA Rookie of The Year 2001 and her nephew, I really nice guy. 

 

It's basically in the Nan River and you cross it eight times, by boat, whilst playing. You also drive across the river several times during the round ... Hole #9 carry off the whites is two hundred plus. 

 

The price is 900thb for Green fee, Caddy fee and Buggy. 1500thb if you stay and that includes two meals. We played Friday and Saturday but stayed at '42C The Chic' in Phitsanulok and drove the 45ish kms to the course each day. 

 

Low season, now, very few people play Mon-Fri. Nov-Feb is usually busy with Korean groups ...up to 150 at times so they told me!

 

It's actually a resort with swimming pool, water slide etc ...this I copied from somewhere so can be a family thing I think.

 

Situated on an island in the Nan River, Water Land Golf Resort & Spa offers an environment of classical Thai design, attentive service and tropical gardens. The resort's 73 rooms are in Standard, Deluxe, Deluxe Villa, Floating Cottage and Royal Thai Manor House Suite categories.
Resort facilities include a swimming pool, restaurants and function rooms for up to 300 people theatre/cocktail style. Activities on offer include Thai cooking classes, fruit carving and flower arrangement lessons, snooker, fishing, water sports like jet skiing and banana boating and local sightseeing. There's also an 18 hole par 72 championship golf course.

 

We will go again in the near future ... when we played it was a little hot!!

 

Be Warned ... if you use GPS it takes you to the wrong entrance and you can't go. If you get to that entrance and it is on your left then just continue around to the left, a few hundred metres and you will reach the correct entrance. Apparently Google have been asked to change the location ....
