NONTHABURI: -- Dozens of cars and several houses were damaged after a two story badminton club came crashing down in a storm yesterday.

The NP Badminton facility in Soi Raewadee, Nonthaburi had eight courts on the second floor and parking underneath.

A roof came loose in a storm and brought the whole lot crashing down.

Apart from the damage to about 30 cars and motorbikes and several houses behind the facility there were no reports of injuries and no deaths.

Owner Suwat Niamprem, 58, said he had just popped out to the market. He returned to see his 10 million baht investment in ruins.

He was insured, however, and he promised to recompense those who had their property damaged.

Two cars parked in the street that were pictured were trashed in the collapse.

It was the roofs fault.....couldn't possibly be the fault of the builders.......storm in Thailand..!!!...what Thais consider to be a "storm" would only rate as (perhaps) 80kmh winds and heavy rain.... in most other countries in the world:coffee1:
