PHUKET:-- Phuket Governor Norraphat Plodthong has called on residents to report all corrupt activities by officials as the country heads toward marking International Anti-Corruption Day on Dec 9.

The current government’s policy is ‘Zero Tolerance & Clean Thailand’, Governor Norrphat told officials at Phuket Provincial Hall yesterday (Sept 18).

“I expect Phuket people to report any officials found involved in corruption. Do not ignore corrupt officials’ behaviour,” he said.

Start at the top and don't forget any official that has ever worked in or been affiliated with the Phuket Land Office.

So, start with a certain police reformer?

Can I report that a "democratic soldier" staged a coup ,tore up the constitution , gave himself and minions total immunity from past present  and future wrong doings ?

It's good to know he, at least, did not buy his position and during his posting it can be seen his house, cars etc. will match his salary.  Hope he will also support local newspapers better than has happened previously.

All officials are reportable but some are more reportable than others.

To collect all of the complaints of corruption in Phuket alone would need enough staff to wipe unemployment out nationwide. Sadly, reporting it will do little, as the people responsible for stopping corruption are the very people behind it, making money from it and protecting their co-conspirators.It will be interesting to see how long the queues are though to file the complaints.

I don't know whether the Gov is more believable in his military look or one of his Bespoke fancy shirts he wears when getting his boots on the ground. Maybe try a wig, false beard and dark pair of sunglasses, nip down to Immigration and see if you can get a certificate of residency, you know that 'Free' service - could make a start there... Patong or Phuket town either will do for the exercise

Report to who? Report the corrupt officials to other corrupt officials? No matter how many reports are made nothing is done. Nothing changes only the names.

I think they need to emply a few hundred more staff to cope with the phone calls, emails and letters reporting the corruption. Could take years to receive all the details!
