Patong - family hotel

Featured Replies

Hello. I work/live in Bangkok and family and I are heading to Phuket for a holiday for a few days in October. Been looking for hotels....

Can anyone recommend a good hotel near the beach that is good for a family (2 adults, 1 nine-year-old and 1 two-year-old)?

We will require an extra camp bed in the room for our nine-year old but the two-year old will sleep on the bed.

Any ideas for hotels? Thanks.

October is not a good month to let your kids anywhere near a beach on the west coast of Phuket.

For me I would research hotels in the Kata/Karon area.

Why?

Try searching for places in kamala.

Most hotels or apartments are family oriented with short walks to beach, restaurants etc. easy to get into patong for a night out if wanted.

If you must stay in Patong then i would choose between Ramada which has fantastic beds or the Novotel next.

But same LIK said october isn't a beach month. Only west coast beach for swimming all year around is Nai Yang. If my family is importent for me and i want they stay health i would go there and no way to Patong.

If you really want to stay in Patong, the Holiday Inn on the beach road has a number of family suite rooms. Within the large guest room, there's a separate partitioned area with bunk beds and dedicated entertainment system (TV, video games) for the kids.

Holiday Inn and other resort hotels have large swimming pools that are safe for children to swim in and have no brown water running into them and have no rip currents like the western beaches have in the monsoon season

If you want to stay in Patong which is the sensible place to stay with young children especially if its your first visit because the majority of the entertainment venues and shopping is located there

Drdaves recommendation of the holiday inn is a good one, my son and his family including young children stopped there and recommend it, close to the beach and has a excellent swimming pool also in walking distance of jungceylon the major shopping centre with movie cinemas etc and plenty of market type stalls and restaurants to choose from

My Daughter and her teenage children stopped at the diamond Cliff resort and that was excellent as well but more suitable for old children/teenagers in my opinion

Not many posters with children on this forum, most seem to be single males with different interests to couples with children
