after living here for more than a decade im in need of something different .  I've got a friend visiting for a month and was thinking about signing up for some yoga sessions or retreat. can anyone please provide some places they can recommend. or where i can find info about such activities, facebook group names etc.? thanks in advance.

Yoga Tree ( theyogatree.org) Wild Rose ( wildroseyoga.org) and Namo (namochiangmai.org) the oldest and most established near the inner city, and, competent in my opinion and I have lived here for 15 years.

I can second Yoga Tree

Looking at Namo's Facebook it seems they are no longer operational at their old location.     As far as I know they are looking for a new place. So at the moment I guess its the Yoga Tree. Wild Rose used to do only more experienced classes, I don't know if that is still true though.

Go along to the Yoga Tree Saturday morning for the 0900-1030 beginners class (there are other days if not convenient check web site). It costs 250baht and you can pay as you go so if you find it more difficult than anticipated, I did despite gym 3 times a week, you can duck out or step it up as you choose.

 

Plenty of parking within the grounds for cars and bikes and the only negative is there are no shower facilities so you get to take that inevitable sweat you worked up home with you.
