"Kentucky is a brutal place for Thai girls.  It snows a lot in the winter, and there are very few Thai people or Thai food.   She will have to be tough to stick it out, and learn English fast."

Yes, I live in Kentucky and the winters are often miserable.  It does not snow that much but about every eight to ten years we get either tons of snow or ice-storms like the dickens with power outages, frozen water &c.  The rest of the time the weather in winter rides the fence between wet and slushy or icy and cold.  January and February are the worst months for miserable cold and icy-wet weather.  Along about March things begin to improve.  I live in a small town (pop 25,000+) and we do have a Thai restaurant so there must be Thai people in the area.  Asian restaurants are very popular but it is mostly the Americanized version of "Chinese food" served in them.  Louisville is only 40 miles away accessible by six-lane interstate highway so there may be more Thai people there.  I think she may like it but the number one thing here is that really good jobs are hard to find and it costs a lot to live.  I have no doubts that she will be lonely from being 12,000 miles from home.  I think she is very brave.  Louisville also has two Buddhist temples (I just remembered...) so she may find friends there.  We do have Asian grocery stores here so she may also find some familiar foods here, too.

I sure wish the best for them.  I hope she is as tough as nails because coming here might take some getting used to.  On the positive side the weather is a bit better here in summer than I hear it is in Thailand.  Air conditioning is very common even in small homes and apartments.  Local water is clean and plentiful.  And outdoors in the summer humidity and temps run a little on the high side (not too much but still we have had temps in the 90's F all summer.

Wish them the best of luck...

At times I'm jealous at all these blue pilled simps for their attainment of happiness which I have yet to achieve since I've moved on to the healthier path.

Happiness is a state of mine, from what you say you dont have the right state of mind

Another lonely old man to get cleaned out.

He would have been better off to get a pet dog.

Jesus H, he's only 48 years old, still got a good 30 ahead of him if he behaves and she takes care of him.

Both parties are required to file a G325a as part of the initial petition. This contains questions about your work history. In addition the beneficiary is required to submit a DS160 prior to the interview being scheduled which also asks about work history

Now if the beneficiary either:
A. Lies about it
Or
B. States she works in a bar

No visa forthcoming in Bangkok. Simple as that.

Kudos to David and Annie, love has no boundaries, beware of the jealous ones because you don't fit into their little minds on how couples should look, and what ages they should be.

Great story, wish them the very best, can only see negative old men commenting here having had bad experiences and never moved on, wishing them no change to their current situations and mind set, as they deserve their own misery.

NEGATIVE old men who have HAD A LOT of experience with Thai Marriages gone wrong.

How do you know and why are you so negative?

That's your assumption not mine. My comment was supposed to be taken in jest.

It would be nice if your right.... but I think we have read enough story's here to know love does indeed have boundaries.

ealier this week, the story was on scamming husbands out of dowries... an increasingly common story.

and then there's the favorite... Harold and the porn star, a truly love struck pair... lol

but again... it would be nice if your right... refreshing even

Nice story. It sounds like he has just got over a difficult period in his life. If he's happy then good luck to him!

Yeah if he wants to delude himself he's happy, it's no one's business but his

He could achieve the same elation with a gram of cocaine far more cheaply

I thought this was a Thailand forum.

Why bring up other parts of the world?

Perhaps to dissuade Thai bashing

Still peddling that old hat?

The sample K-1 interview questions don't ask where they met, only when. Like similar applications for other countries, they request the applicant to provide more information about their American fiance than about themselves. It would appear that the people who draft these questionnaires have a broader mind than a lot of the usual suspects here.... quelle surprise!

Do these forms you mention specifically ask if anyone ever worked in a bar? If not, the applicant doesn't have to offer that she ever did. Do you think that the interviewing officer is flat out going to ask, "Did you ever receive money for providing sexual services?"

If an applicant makes a false declaration and it is proven as such, then yes, end of story. In the meantime, some American entities already embrace the "Don't ask, don't tell" form of lying by omission. Gotta love the constitutional amendments that afford such protections for all.

ROTFLMAO !
She's from a (very) poor village in Beung Kan (on the Lao border next to Nong Khai). She went to Bangkok to find a job, or a "new life". :whistling:

He met her in a bar. (Let me guess, she started working there the same day he showed up ! Those aren't tattoos, they're birthmarks !) :w00t:

After "a week or two" he proposed. Spoiler alert ! She said yes ! :shock1:

He feels like he's just won the lottery. They are planning on moving to America. :intheclub:

Oh, and he had to pay a dowry for her !!!!!! Somehow I don't think he's the one who won the lottery ! :jap:

Think same.

Who win the lottery? Spoiler alert again !!

One day i would like to see one Thai Women are engaged with a farang without come from a poor ISAAN village or bar.

Same story everytime, and when he will be in wheelchair, with generosity, she will let him go back :D
