"Entertainment venues" asked to "scale down"?

Featured Replies

With only hours notice, yesterday:

" The Ministry of Interior has instructed all provincial governors to seek cooperation from operators of entertainment business to suspend entertainment activities throughout October in correspondence with the final mourning and Royal cremation ceremonies. "   https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/1005746-entertainment-operators-asked-to-suspend-activities-throughout-october/

Why give businesses a few weeks notice so they can adjust plans and work schedules?  Just hit them with it on short notice and with vague instructions, leading to lots of confusion and opportunities for the local men in uniform to profit.

I didn't make it out last night.  How is this "seek cooperation from operators of entertainment business" being interpreted locally?

I guess that means at Foxy Lady and Spotlight the lasses will be wearing dresses when up on the stage.  They might as well close the doors in that case.  It's looking more and more like a trip out of this country is in order shortly.  I pity the poor Lads coming here for a bit of bawdy R & R and totally unware of the restrictions being placed on entertainmrnt venues.

How do you "tone down" places that are already dead?  I missed the 1400 cutoff for buying beer yesterday in BKK, by two minutes.  Had a very cold one in my hand at 14:06....they thoroughly enjoy defying laws.
