I think there was a misunderstanding, lost in translation, in this matter. Upon the due date, customer may opt to transfer the total deposit amount and interest to savings or current account. If the customer does not contact the Bank, the system will continue the deposit with the compounded interest. https://www.uob.co.th/personal-en/deposits/fixed-deposit/uob-fixed-deposit-account.page If the bank cannot update the passbook as you state, then additionally request a 12 month bank statement. As standard, I always supply updated passbook, bank statement and letter. -

Interesting, who would have thought logic and common sense could slip so far out of one's reach? Straw man & false equivalence — "How do illegal aliens get to Los Angeles?" Misrepresents the original point about how hard it is for homeless people to relocate, then compares it to undocumented migrants who have resources, networks, or jobs lined up — two situations that aren’t remotely alike. Cherry picking — "Not many families with children living on the streets of DC." Focuses only on visible street homelessness while ignoring hidden homelessness in shelters or temporary housing. Hasty generalization — "Most of the homeless are addicts." Assumes one subgroup represents the whole population. Addiction rates are high, but so are mental illness rates, and they often overlap. That doesn’t erase housing shortages or poverty as root causes. Loaded question — "Should the state institutionalize people with mental illness against their will?" Frames the issue to trap the answerer into agreeing with a broader agenda, sidestepping the real debate about homelessness causes. Oversimplification — "Jobs Americans won’t do?" Treats complex economic and logistical barriers as irrelevant. Jobs still require housing nearby, transportation, and wages that cover rent — not just “work exists somewhere.” False cause — "If you pay people less to be homeless…" Assumes aid causes homelessness without evidence. Most aid barely covers food and hygiene, let alone rent. Homelessness is already “paid” in misery, risk, and instability — it’s not a lifestyle subsidy. This isn’t about culture wars — for the homeless, it’s about staying alive for the day. -

Bt 800,000?
For anyone who annually brings "top up" funds into Thailand from the UK you should make sure the UK bank is aware of your actions. If you are regarded as elderly (over 70) in the UK you fall under the banks spotlight for "protection" and you could find your transaction frozen due to it being an unexpected transaction and therefore a suspect scam. It may not be a problem for expats but I will be contacting my UK bank for reassurance. -

Bangkok Bank app face scan problems
I got the same error message to take off my hat, when, of course, I wasn't wearing one. Also told me to center my face in the 'green frame' but the frame sometimes wasn't there and sometimes disappeared as I was doing the smiling with teeth or the blinking 3 times.- 1
