Does Walk Land (Walkland?) in Santitham still exist?

Featured Replies

Eight or nine years ago I went to an outdoor Thai bar in Santitham named Walk Land.  It was pretty nice, but back then I had more interesting options more conveniently located in the Nimmanhamin area.

Nimmanhamin is now boring.  I saw a sign for Walk Land on Hasadhisawee road, but it didn't give directions.  I've looked around in what I think is the area that Walk Land was in without finding it.

Does anyone know if Walk Land still exists?  I suspect not, eight years is a long time in the Chiang Mai bar scene.  However if it is still there, I'd appreciate directions.  If not, I'd appreciate if anyone can confirm that.  Either way, thanks for your help.

If Walk Land still exists I think it will be in the Santhitam Plaza area

From the roundabout in Santhitam go past the 7-11, then go past the Tesco Lotus and turn left at the first junction after Tesco Lotus

If Walk Land has shut I’d recommend Oxide

Turn right at the junction past Tesco Lotus and follow the road to the end and turn left, then follow the road to the end and turn right

There were about a frozen bars in that shopping plaza like place in Santitham a few months ago.  All about the same.  There is even a mini market with a table if you want to do a large and scope it out.  It is a lot like what Niman used to be like before it was mostly ruined.  More Thai, lower prices, more beer drinking.....might be good if Oxide is dead...

Thanks.  I think I've looked in that area, but I'll double check.  I'm pretty sure Walk Land is gone but no one took down the sign. I go to Oxide on occasion, I'm just trying to expand the limited number of options now available in Chiang Mai.
