Fixing jeans and shirt - tailor or clothes repair shop?

Hi guys,

 

I'm looking for some small tailor shop which could fix some of my clothes. Minor adjustments, minor clothes repair. Anyone know any shop? Preferably thong lo or sukhumvit area.

I don't specifically know that area...but there usually are seamstress' set up around most neighborhoods that can do pretty good minor repairs at almost next to nothing.

 

I have had pants hemmed, taken in/out (depending on diet or not...), buttons sewn on, new zippers etc. If you see a woman with a sewing machine setup....easy to arrange...use sign language if Thai is not good.

I've had very good service, good quality work, and reasonable prices, from an alterations shop called Benjamas Tailors on the 2nd floor of the Times Square building near Suk Soi 12. A bunch of Thai ladies work there, and they speak decent English to boot.

 

They're strictly a sewing shop, so they're not going to try to talk you into custom-made suits or any BS like that. They replaced and redid the elastic waist in a pair of exercise pants for 300b, and did some minor hemming of a bath towel and sewing repair of a pair of my wife's shorts for 50b apiece.

 

They also have a couple of curtained cubicles for changing your clothes if you need to try something on for fitting, which is a distinct advantage over the streetside sewing ladies.

 

Also, being able to explain in English exactly what I want done, and how I want it done, and having the lady understand me is another big plus in my book.
