14 Cambodians arrested for sneaking into Sa Kaew

By The Nation

Sa Kaew immigration police arrested 14 Cambodians at the border market at Rong Klua for illegally crossing the border.

Immigration officers found eight Cambodian men and six women in a rented room at the market when the officials made a routine patrol at 6am.

The 14 were not carrying travelling documents.

They said via an interpreter that they had paid Bt2,500 each to a Cambodian broker who led them across the border at a remote spot in Tambon Khok Sung in Khok Sung district before they were taken in a pickup to the Rong Klua market in Aranyaprathet.

They were waiting for another pickup to take them to Ayutthaya, where they had been promised construction work, when they were arrested.

The migrants were taken to the Sa Kaew immigration office and will be deported.
