Forum creation, how to proceed?

Featured Replies

I have created my won website (pure HTML) and I have some programming background.

I would like to start my own forum.
I think of using "Simple Machines" for this, but I am open to other "Ready built (free)" forums.

I would be glad to receive some tips/help on this matter from people who have experience with this.

TIA

The obvious candidates for this sort of thing are blogging packages like Wordpress (with forum plug-ins) and dedicated forum packages like Vbulletin etc.

If you only want the forum part without the blog part, and you already have your main website, then probably simplest to stick with the forum packages. Your choice will depend on cost, the features you need, and the volume of traffic you expect to get.

My Web Hosting Provider is BlueHost.
But they don't offer much help in the creation of a Forum.

They do offer phpBB.  See top link at the following link for installation instructions.
