3.0 tremor hit Chiang Mai before noon

A mild 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck Sansai district of Chiang Mai before noon today with people in several district including Chiang Mai town reporting feeling of brief tremor.

 

The Seismology Bureau of the Meteorological Department said today that the earthquake struck at 11.18am with the epicentre of the tremor 2 kilometres deep underground in Sansai district.

It must have been extremely mild.  I live right next to the San Sai area and never felt a thing.

Such a tremor would be a calm conversation piece in California; I wonder if Chiang Mai is so fragile that this quake would actually cause damage...

In my house in Chiang Dao, all frame is made from Teak to withstand the quakes.

Last time old TV fell down and broke.

Sounds like radio man PB got out of bed early today, all that Portuguese food he has eaten, size matters.
