Sala Lanna Chiang Mai on the banks of the Ping River welcomes the cool season with a new and stylish river bar.

Guests can make the most of the Chiang Mai winter experience while sipping craft beers on beanbags in an attractive waterfront location.

The River Bar overlooks the gentle waters of the river and boasts a chilled-out vibe with an extended local craft beer selection that includes local Chiang Mai, Red Truck, Chalawan, Chatri, Bussaba, and Phuket beers, as well as a wide selection of imported craft beers and fine wines.

There’s live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night with four bands offering a selection of everything from acoustic numbers and bossa to pop jazz and country rock. A DJ spins from 9 to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Perch on stools at the counter or slouch in a beanbag in front of the stage to catch the music, which can also be enjoyed from the adjacent restaurant and rooftop. The bar’s varied beverages are paired with a new menu, including a selection of tapas created by Chef Aswin “Jack” Intraphanich and traditional Italian homemade pizzas.

Chef Jack recently joined the Sala Lanna culinary team, bringing with him extensive experience from previous stints in successful restaurants in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Chiang Mai as well as Muscat, Oman, with major hotel brands such as The Chedi, The Peninsula, and The Sukhothai.

Smile Band play from 7 to 8pm on Thursdays, following by the Ping Band from 8 to 10. On Fridays, the Ping Band play from 7 to 8 pm, rockers MoSo from 8 to 9pm while DJ Tik spins cools grooves from 9-10. Saturdays, it’s acoustic pop by The Postman from 7, boosa nova from Smile Band at 8 and chill out music from DJ Tik from 9.
