Do not believe hotels are actively seeking farang employees - some are hired for qualifications by a number of higher class hotels so it would be more of them meeting the hotel requirements at the time that the hotel needs them.

It’s alright if they’re not actively seeking farang, just wondering which ones I might have the best chances with? I’ve been on many websites and whilst some don’t seem to have an immediate vacancies there are positions that people can submit resumes for.

any helpful pointers would be appreciated.

Every 5 star hotel i have been to in BKK has foreign employees.

I would also say any of the western based chains like Marriott. I would think they see a slightly higher percent of English speaking travelers because of brand recognition and people that are members of there points programs.

Yes, and  he (rarely a she) is sent to Thailand on a specific contract for a specific job.

The foreign employee(s) typically occupy a position such as General Manager (typically a person who has 10+ years experience and worked in other company branded hotels), Executive Chef (typically a person hired specifically for his/her culinary skill with the intent to ensure common standards within the hotel chain. ) and sometimes F&B manager, but the trend is to  avoid foreigners now.

I was in the Hilton Hua Hin the last few days and they had multiple farang working there, Sofitel in Krabi a few weeks ago and they had some young farang who had been transferred over here for 6-9 months as part of their training. I also know Japanese, Russians who work in the Centara and Anantara hotels.

Most General Managers seem to be older farang gentleman. If you want a job maybe attend some of the chamber of commerce events where many of the General managers seem to sponsor and attend.
