A team of police and local administration officials rounded up over 20 Chinese nationals in Phra Pradaeng district of Samut Prakarn province for having forged Thai national identification cards.

The arrest of these Chinese men and women followed the arrest of a Thai state employee of the Ladluang Municipality in Phra Pradaeng, Ms Pilaiporn Phoothong, for preparing fake documents to apply ID cards for these Chinese people.

She could help to issue Thai ID cards with Thai names and family names for 29 Chinese, thus enabling them to work as guides and to operate tourism business in Thailand.

honest mistake right

forged ID cards?

reads like the cards are real

Obviously not tourists. They are people attempting to "pass" as Thai citizens. No work permits, no 90 day reporting, access to 30 baht medical, etc., etc., etc.
