Gunfire was heard outside a downtown Pattaya shopping area after a fight in a pub spilled into the car park early Tuesday morning.

Police were called by security to the car park of Major on Beach 2 road after a fight had broken out at the Move Club Pattaya inside.

In the pub police found bloodstains and a lot of broken glass that had been cleared up by staff. Some patrons were still enjoying karaoke facilities but everyone was tight-lipped at what had transpired, reported the Pattaya Crime News page on Facebook.

Security said that shots were fired into the air outside as rival groups confronted each other .

The manager of the club - Sawek Wiangsimma, 29 - was taken in on a charge of having no licence and selling alcohol out of hours.

Police are studying CCTV to get a lead on the youths involved who all fled the scene before and as police arrived.

So instead chasing the ones that run, the choice was to charge an almost completely innocent bar owner. Eureka, once again! Call the Hot Line to Einsteins Private Mensa Club!

If they were teenagers he was probably guilty of serving alcohol to minors too. How much trouble would it be for police to systematically check all of the bars in their areas for licenses instead of just after incidents like this ?  It seems that there is no license held by bars in the majority of the incidents reported on TV.

Because most are owned or financed by policemen.  Those that aren't pay their tea money to keep the police off of their backs.  It's very straightforward really in a country that has corruption as it's bedrock.

It would also mean the police getting off their a***s and leaving the office. Be reasonable!!

Pattaya police check EVERY bar EVERY month and confiscate brown envelopes that might be hazardous to the owners' health.
