someone said i should check-in here.

anyway i'm 27, if i wasn't living in thailand i'd be living with my parents in the US (not really but if the market US market crashes beyond that of the great depression then there would more than likely be a family compound which i'd probably contribute to on the guard tower trading shifts with my brothers picking off looters through the scope of a high powered rifle those who are trying to steal the rims off the car.)

i'm on Koh Phangan right now, but i'm trying to get off this God forsaken island and back into the hustle and bustle of Bangkok (seriously, i miss Bangkok immensely). Koh Phangan is a holiday destination and hope to be back many many times after i move from here.

My son just turned 6 months old, and my wife is still playing the hormone card by not putting out. So there is my sex life all up front and personal.

I was forced through school and university where i studied criminal justice so that i could try to stay one step ahead of the police who were always trying to bring me down from my happy illicit drug habit. When i graduated uni i stopped that habit and realized that my degree was then useless because no police force wants an ex-criminal who's only crime was to expand his mind, nor would i want to work for the enemy. So now i'm contemplating law school so i can take on the bullies in blue, but that would mean moving back to the US, which is going to have to happen anyway because I can't afford an international school for my kid in thailand, and the public schools here create... well... just take a close look around and you will see the products of the Thai educational system. They happen to be lurking around every corner and hiding in every dark ally. I want more for my son.

so there you have it. me in a nutshell. geeze i'm glad this is anonymous, however i think that a few of you out there probably know who i am.

As per Tigger's request:

Born in Sweden in the 40's (makes me an 'old fart', I guess)

One year as exchange student in the US (Battle Creek, MI, 'Cereal City')

Graduated from 'high school'

Joined the Royal Swedish Air Force Volunteer Reserve (retired with rank Squadron Leader, radar operations, in '92)

Trained as Commercial Pilot in the UK, worked as such for a few years

Went to Business School (Management of Information Systems), then worked as lecturer at same school for five years

Left academia (for better money) in the business world

Married my first (Thai) wife in '86

Systems analyst => CIO => Consultant

Divorced '93

Spent last 15 years of working life specializing in pricing of telecoms services, working for/with a number of operators in several countries (including PR China, very interesting and great fun)

Now retired, hence 'Priceless' :o:D

PS Forgot to add that, while still in Sweden, I bred and showed Ragdoll cats as a hobby. My avatar is my oldest female, by name of 'Sushi'.

Welcome Priceless, and a very interesting background too.

Well, I guess it shows a certain lack of sense of direction. Might be my best qualification for Bedders :o

Welcome to the Asylum, Price. Three and a half years, but you've finally found the stairs to the TV basement. Your cubicle is the one behind the boiler room (we know how cold it's been in Chiang Mai).

Thank you very much, dear Sir! It's really been freezing up here.

You'll get on very well with a certain Bedlam poster domiciled in Geneva.

Welcome.

BTW, do you know what a "spank paddle" is ?

Nope, I don't think my cats have ever used one.

Lets open Pandoras box...

From Germany which I left 1978. I lived and worked in England, USA and Canada.

I am a trained classical pianist and have a master degree in typesetting, graphics & design.

I grew up with the music of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and was in the crowd when Jimmy Hendrix played his last open air concert.

In Thailand since 1987. Bangkok.

I work in the graphic/design & prepress business.

Have a 15y old boy, live alone and met Eric Clapton 2 years ago on a park bench next to my apartment in Bangkok...

I speak some Thai, and can understand it to a certain level but need another 22 years to get it right...

And now let the party begin...

I've got to say guys, I just don't get it. Been lurking around for a bit and haven't seen anything of interest. Perhaps I'm just too thick. Anyway, the rest of my intro is copied from my profile page.

"The year was 1975, I was still a student and working part time. That first couple of years I made several visits to Thailand. After graduation I moved here, not suspecting that more than 30 years later I would still be here? Though I have been a witness to much of what life has to offer, good and bad, I fortunately have lived a charmed life and know that luck has played a part in it. For me Thailand has been many things, from a place to grow up, to now, a place to grow old."

Welcome villagefarang. Lurk a bit longer and you might realise that there isn't actually anything to get! :o

I read the 1st 2 pages, and will get to the others when able. It's intriguing to get some detail on the interesting folks here on T.Visa. Lots of young'uns, around 30 years. That must make me an oldie goldie, seeing how I just turned 57.

I got popped out in Denmark, about 9 months after my mother had a whirlwind affair with actor Jimmy Stewart. became a US citizen at 8 years. Got kicked out of several schools in various European countries during teenage years. Never got a HS diploma. Played electric guitar in dozens of bar bands. Been a chimney sweep, pot grower, Levis peddler, house builder, and book writer at various times along the way. Now settled in northernmost Thailand, and considering getting hitched with an Akha gal half my age - she's casual, cute, low budget and easy to be with - oh (almost forgot), we also really dig each other - or at least that's what she's led me to believe. Am developing rural property with solar PV. Am generally enjoying things, though I could complain if you get me started.

Really, I don't think anyone noticed :) (joke....... welcome BB.... took you long enough :D )
