I really want to have 'maps' on the screen of my MY15 Everest. I have been told ... You can upgrade it to SYNC3 by replacing the whole screen module which the price differs from aftermarket places... by someone who knows but he didn't offer 'where to do'.

I live not too far from ChaengWattana Immigration.  So can anyone recommend a local place, failing that, one n Bangkok ... And has anyone done the SYNC2 to SYNC3 upgrade

thanks

I read that Ford say you cannot upgrade to a Sync3 unit, due to the units being matched to the particular vehicle.

That being said, you can upgrade it to an aftermarket unit. These guys do a good job apparently [miragecaraudio - dot - com].

Thanks JTB ... I think the guy meant that I had to replace the whole lot ... next month is service time again so I will talk to the Product Specialist ... he should be up on my options and warranty issues ...

I am pretty sure you will be cheaper buying a complete aftermarket gps (and dvd video player) than upgrading the maps only on the fitted product at dealer price/

Ah ... a slight misunderstanding somewhere ... I want to use Android Auto with Maps google.   I certainly don't want an inbuilt GPS, Ford or anyones  ...

Yes. I read that Ford will not replace the SYNC2 unit for a SYNC3 unit stating that each unit is specific the car it is paired to on the production line.

I do hope that is tosh as I wouldn't mind having a SYNC3 head unit as well.
