Follows a long tradition of young 20 somethings going to exotic places, getting drunk and acting stupid. Kontiki tours around Europe were exemplars of this in the 70s and 80s. Nothing new, but still equally annoying. They'll get a slap on the wrist and a great story to tell yobbo friends upon returning home.

First they all went to Goa India for years, after that to Koh Phangan....

Guess Cambodia doesn't want to be the next partydestination for Western kids....well they are free to decide that me thinks..

I don't believe that video is connected to this particular incident, looks like a video from one of the party nights in sihanoukville beach resort down south where these parties are common

There is mr. Job van der W doing a pornodance and on the frontpage of a Dutch newspaper.

The others were 5 Brits, 2 Canadians, 1 from Norway and a New Zealander. They are on the policestation  for several days already.

Earning the fiver under the table isn't so easy now that the 'prey' has the Embassy, and internet news media on auto dial...:cheesy:

Cue back-pedalling from higher ranks, a slap on the risk and 'stern warnings' as the bookings get cancelled, and damage to tourism taking kicks in.....:hit-the-fan:

Can't see why they wasted their money flying to Cambodia to party. Would have been a lot cheaper just to fly to Ibiza or Greece if you are not particularly interested in local culture.

It is not a management accounting decision.

i've seen the photos, nothing more than high jinks in the west but common sense would suggest you dont behave in such a way in a culturally sensitive place. females are equally involved.

a result possibly of the 'obsession with self' many people have nowadays with social media and wanting to do something that will gain the attention of others to boost their self esteem/ego.

"nothing more than high jinks in the west": Summarizing everything that is wrong with the west these days.

To be honest going to Cambodia is probably cheaper than Ibiza these days when you take every thinking into consideration.

Westerners accused of ‘singing and dancing pornographically’ could face a year in Cambodian prison

Ten Westerners face up to a year in a Cambodian prison after being arrested Thursday near Angkor Wat and accused of pornography and human trafficking for “singing and dancing pornographically.”

The case represents the latest clash between young foreigners who say they were blindsided by morality police and Cambodian officials who have been cracking down in recent years on Westerners they say are failing to respect the country's mores and sacred spaces.

The singing and dancing in question happened at a popular pool party event Thursday called Let's Get Wet, according to the Telegraph. The party was in Siem Reap, not far from the country's Angkor Wat temple complex. Almost 100 people attended, mostly Western tourists and expatriates.

In the mean time, where are the actually human trafficking victims who are being forced into prostitution?   Wait, wait - don't look over there!  Look at this instead!!!

You better watch the video, those ladettes hang them out all the time like only Brittish boozers can do. This is not Ibiza after all and they behave worse than a chinese grouptour.

They should have gone to Spain, guess they learned that now.

But why did they arrest the  men ?

I also wonder why but on the pictures i see boys have sex with eachother.....still not naked though.

Maybe they didn't dare to arrest the girls? Well the message is clear, don't go to Cambodia for those kind of parties....i wonder why they didn;'t go to phangan, is that out of fashion among the youth?

You won't see Dutch or Canadian, new Zealand girls show their boobs nonstop after some drinks..that's what Brits do mate...and they're proud to do it.

Whereas an equally gallactically un-intelligent generalization could be thought of some 'other' nationalities based simply on what a handful write on this forum...  Where are you from Thian ?

Back on Topic and avoiding the rather unintelligent and unimaginative generalizations:

This is hardly a major crime and it would appear that the Police prefer to take the easier and somewhat sanctimonious path of targeting foreigners rather that dealing with far more serious issues...  This is simply high spirits, young adults getting up to what young adults do, they'll have fun memories and eventually grow up and continue their lives as many of us did.

The location may be questionable, but I imagine that there are some fairly significant crimes occurring in the area which could use similar levels of attention to fight.

IMO: This is just a money grab for the Police.... Arrest foreigners, make a big deal of it, get a pay out, let them go.
