BANGKOK, 31 January 2018 (NNT) - The Thai Health Promotion Foundation (Thai Health) and the Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC) have jointly launched a co-playing playground program to curb mobile phone addiction among children.

According to Dr. Pairoj Saunum of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, the World Health Organization reported that Thai children spend less than 60 minutes per day engaging in physical activities, adding that too much screen time could potentially affect their brain and physical development.

There are two different types of co-playing playgrounds. The first one, which is called ‘Active Learning,’ aims to promoting outside classroom learning. Children will be encouraged to engage in various forms of physical activities.

The second type, ‘Household Hack,’ promotes motor development by making use of household appliances in a creative way.

Both types are designed specifically for children from 6 to 14 years old.

The first co-playing playground will be built on Charoen Krung road and later in schools and communities across Bangkok.

Those interested can visit an exhibition to see what the playground looks like at the Marine Police Lodging on Charoen Krung Soi 36 from now until until February 4th.

I can't wait to see what they can do with an electric fan!
