Temporary Suspension oF 3BB Internet

Featured Replies

In April I will be going back to the uk for six months and don’t want to pay for the service if I’m not using it. Is it possible to suspend the service then start it up again in October with same account details etc?

not sure if they will do 6 months straight off, a friend did it in 2 x 3 month lumps

3BB wouldn't let me cancel the service for good when I went in the day it expired,  the little witch told me I should have come in the day before.  I guess they never heard of prorating a bill !

So they are not the most accommodating company so I wouldn't get my hopes up

You should have just stopped paying after expiration.

3BB also will not prorate to give credit when their service is down for 2 or 3 days, which has happened too often in out area

I just signed a new 12 month contract because I upgraded from ADSL to VDSL and was told explicitly that I can suspend the service during this 12 months. I thought I might not have been able to.  I have been a customer for over 9 years but I don't know if they take that into account.

A little bit off topic but does fit the thread's title and is a parallel scenario.  Evidently the NBTC has warned Internet providers to refund or give discounts to their customers in case of service disruption, due to receiving complaints from internet subscribers that their services were disrupted and they were not compensated for the service disruptions.

Will this warning change anything..?
