Yesterday (January 4), Klong Thom Police (Krabi) received a report about a pick-up truck crashing into van, resulting in 1 casualty and 10 injuries.

The accident occurred at Namkhao-Koh Lanta Road, where police and rescue teams found the Chevrolet pick-up badly damaged from its front all the way to the driver seat. About 20 metres away, a van with Trang province license plates, was flipped in the drain on the side road with its front and sides damaged.

The driver of the pickup truck, 50 year old Niran Kan-Iad, was severely injured and died later.

Most likely another preventable tragedy. Condolences to the survivors, RIP to the truck driver.

RIP. Many crashes going on in the news today.

you just get numb to it all.

obviously brake failure again...amazing how all cars in Thailand are made with faulty brakes..never seen in any other country...Thailan is pathetically asleep and needs to wake up real soon and stop this brainless carnage

I was hoping it was van driver who died if anyone had to die. Alas it was not so

The accident location is a curve and the pick-up truck lost control and went into the opposite lane, colliding with the van.

Best to read the whole article before posting.

Well...on the positive side, one less moronic minivan driver on the roads.

...alternatively, you could just read the article that didn't speculate foolishly and see the actual cause.

Why, what had that driver done to deserve your death wish for him?  Was he the one driving on the wrong side of the road?

Really? The van driver is the moronic one?  It seems not.  What makes him "one less"?  Was he the one who died?
