BANGKOK, 14th February 2018 (NNT) – The relocation of Bangkok’s Dusit Zoo is still under study, according to the Zoological Park Organization.

Mr. Benjapol Nakprasert, Director-General of the Zoological Park Organization Under Royal Patronage of H.M. the King, said on Tuesday that the plan to move Dusit Zoo is currently at the stage focussing on the design of the new location.

According to Mr. Benjapol, the new location for the Bangkok zoo is planned on a 300-rai plot of land in Pathum Thani province.

He added that the design process is expected to take a few years to complete.

Regarding the transfer of animals, Mr. Benjapol said that a study on which types of animals should go to one of the other seven zoos under the supervision of the Zoological Park Organization is also underway.

For now, he assures the public that Dusit Zoo remains operational as usual.
