House of ‘furious aunties’ becomes a tourist attraction

The house of “furious aunties”, which is surrounded by three of the four flea markets near King Rama IX Park, has become an attraction for passersby after a long dispute over parking became a viral video.

On Wednesday, many onlookers and neighbours were seen taking selfies at the house’s gate and front wall, which are plastered with big signs about court orders and other legal issues.

The viral video, taken on Sunday, shows Ratanachat Sangyoktrakan, 61, and Ranee Sangyoktrakan, 57, the owners of the house, using an axe and spade to hit a pickup that parked in front of their house in Seri Villa housing project in Prawet district.

The two sisters later called a press conference on the pavement outside the house to say that their family had suffered due to irresponsible parking for nearly a decade.

They also complained that the previous Prawet district chief should not have allowed street hawkers to build flea markets in the area, where temporary trade is banned.

The front wall of the house is a familiar sight to people living in the area, as they know all about the dispute between the owners of the house and Bangkok authorities over the noisy, busy weekend markets.

Tourists have to eat somewhere. ???

One wrecked pickup is better than dead Thais or Farangs and expats if ths situation is not

stopped by the police and the military PM, Big P, General. I will keep reading and waiting to see, what

happens next.

Geezer

Just buy a couple of motocy's and park them in front of their gates so no one else can, and ask the authorities to paint Red & White no parking on the kerbs.

Seems as if these ladies accomplished somethings: one market will be closed immediately according to Thai news. Bravo, hat off to you brave ladies!
