Popular Post webfact
CPR volunteer who straddled victim on stretcher receives award Picture: Sanook Nong Jaen - the Ruam Katanyu volunteer who tried to save a man's life as she gave CPR on a moving stretcher - has been honored by the government. Jaen - real name Peeraya Sae-na - was at the center of a drama last week after some people questioned whether jumping on a victim to perform CPR was the right thing to do. Most people said it was exactly the right thing to do and the government has agreed. Yesterday at the National Legislative Assembly Surachai Liangbunlertchai gave Jaen a diploma for volunteer service. The victim had suffered a heart attack collecting up possessions in the wake of a fire in Chan Road, Bangkok, and was being rushed to hospital unconscious as Jaen performed CPR in a narrow soi. The victim could not be revived and, despite Jaen's efforts and that of other volunteers. was pronounced dead in hospital. 1337markus
Pretty poor journalism, instead of telling us what the award means to this brave young lady; we get a repeat of the story the day it happened.

I'm an official volunteer.

Thanks for that warning. I wasn't aware of that. Unfortunately that means that I won't be helping any Thais in trouble. Same as in Saudi where we were told during our orientation to go the other way from an accident.
