Police have arrested an Ayutthaya man for allegedly snatching a bag of an Australian tourist while she was riding a bicycle to visit temples in Ayutthaya’s Muang district.

 

Ekkapoj Trairong, 32, was arrested on Friday, said Poj Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, who announced the arrest in Ayutthaya on Saturday.

 

Surachet said Ekkapot rode his motorcycle after two Australian tourists, identified as Eva Baugartner, 23, and Fabian Wenny, 28, before he snatched Baugartner’s bag from the basket on the fornt of her bicycle and sped off.

 

Ekkapoj said police managed to retrieve the bag and all its belongings and return them to the tourist.

Good thing Australia decided to give them asylum while they waited for their bag.

 

 

Lol... so the electronic wristbands may have a use.... each person can strap it too their bag, vs wrist, and use it as a gps locator, once the bag is stolen locally ?
