Do you know if the coal burning is from electricity generation or something else?

Due in large part to the emissions caused by burning coal, China is now the number one producer of carbon dioxide, responsible for a full quarter of the world's CO2 output. ... New coal power plants have a set date of the beginning of 2012 and for old power plants by mid-2014

A significant source of pollution, historically, has been some hill-tribe groups deliberately burning forest areas so that when the rains come a fine crop of mushrooms appear on the charred fallen trees; that has been a cash crop when delivered through existing trading  networks.

I would estimate total hill-tribe air pollution in Thailand to be a fraction of that produced by large-scale agriculture. And, I'd be happy to have my assumptions corrected based on reliable research !

When you finish that research please post the results.

It's really unfortunate, on a thread like this, to see ad hominem retorts to posts that add information to the topic being discussed, like yours.
