webfact Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Truck driver led by GPS into narrow soi breaks power cable, house fence By The Nation A 10-wheel truck broke a power cable in a narrow soi in Nong Khai and hit a house’s fence overnight after the driver relied on his onboard GPS system to find a shortcut. Truck driver Sudawut Pongwang, 28, waited for police at the scene just after midnight on Friday morning, and was taken to the Nong Khai police station to face charges. The driver for Songsup Logistics Co Ltd told police that he had delivered goods in the Nong Khai downtown and was returning to Bangkok. He said he was not familiar with Nong Khai roads so he used the onboard GPS system to guide him back to Bangkok and the system led him to a narrow soi as a shortcut to the main road. Following the GPS guide, he ran his truck into a power cable, which broke and caused a blackout in the neighbourhood. He then ran into the fence of a house, prompting residents of the soi to come out and call police. farcanell Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 Lol... I’m liking it. excuses for incompetence are starting to get more varied and original, no BS brake failure for this lad.... I’m calling that “progress” extrapolate that progress out a couple or three generations, and incompetence might finally be eradicated ( or regulated ???) 1
