1) *A Non-Immigrant Visa

2) Proof of Residence

3) Existing 2 year (or 5 year) Licence.

*If you do not have a Non-Immigrant Visa (i.e. If you have a Tourist Visa, Visa Exemption Stamp etc) you can only renew for a Temporary 2 year licence.

They might make you watch a video and most probably reaction and eyesight tests...but shouldn't make you do the theory test again.

One month ago, for the same process (from 2 years to 5 years) I was not requested to attend video and theory, only the colours and brake test.

Don't think a medical is required. Is this a new requirement. Not needed on my last 5 year.

Make sure your housemaster has already registered you with Immigration. If not on Immigration House Registration database then the CoR will not be issued.

Medical is required 2 to 5 years.

5 to 5 not. But don't ask me why.

Repetition does not hurt, general rules (not Phuket specific):

  • medical required for 2yr to 5yr (not for 5yr to 5yr)
  • no theory test, just watching video (sometimes waived)
  • but physical tests (reaction, eye sight)

What document is accepted as proof of residence varies from office to office, but be prepared to show a proof from immigration as you don't seem to have a WP or a yellow book (which is also not accepted at certain offices).
