Ukrainian man rescued 5km off Phuket’s coast

PHUKET: A 27-year-old Ukrainian man is safe after being recovered five kilometres off Bang Tao Beach by fishermen yesterday evening (April 18).

 

Capt Winai Wutthiban of the Cheng Talay Police was called to the beach at 6:30pm.

 

By the time police arrived, however, Cherng Talay Municipality rescue workers were already providing first aid to the man, named as “Josie” Marh.

This time of year is the dangerous underwater stream west of Phuket

There are underwater currents that pull it out to the open sea

 

The safest place to swim is the swimming pool

No current at all  at present.

I swim there or the  next beach  , and well out ,  every day.

All hotels on the west side told their guests not to swim in the ocean, because the sewer goes out there

But with your strong currents this time of year Im sure that is pulled to open sea.
