I suggest that one weather pinned thread can include the yearly spate of smog-smoke coughed up in the other pinned thread , and include the currently unpinned thread on raining.

How about one pinned forum for weather to include rain and  pollution, too hot, too cold, etc.  ?

 

And, one forum for arguments about (any aspect of) weather ?

Why any? Don't we all have windows?  We can see if it's raining. We can even see if it's sunny. And if we can't see the rain or the sun, well then, we know it's smoggy.  We even have the Weather Underground to tell us what the weather will be next week.

I support the motion to have a single pinned weather thread for  Chiang Mai.

Being a Canadian I have no problem understanding that talking about the weather is single most inclusive, mutually relevant, apolitical form human interaction. The weather is both a scoundrel and deliverer, a common foe and champion. It has many faces and many moods and we are both excited and terrified by its excesses.
