Thai/Greek "hiso" wanted for kicking attack on "Tom" outside Ekamai pub

Thong Lor police have issued a summons for a well connected 30 year old Thai/Greek man to appear after a 2.30 am attack on a woman outside a Bangkok pub on Tuesday.

Natthinee Nilarat, 24, - a tomboy - called in reporters after she was knocked unconscious in the attack on the sidewalk in Ekamai.

She had gone to the police but after there were no developments or arrest she was concerned that the man's connections with high society might get him off the rap.

The assailant is believed to be connected to a businessman son of a former official at the Ministry of Finance.

Natthinee has now been shown pictures at Thong Lor station and immediately fingered Stelios Karamallis, 30, as the man who kicked her in the face.

The designer has been summonsed to appear at Thong Lor police station.

Why do so many people have to go to the Media to get any action from the Police ?

If you truly knew the Thai police, you wouldn't need to ask that question.

Good question.

Maybe is there was some decent capability at the top all people who be treated equally.

Right now the top guy is almost unseen, in fact 1 or 2 of the guys at the next level are seen often and seem to be doing something valid / valuable.

Top guy is good for photo ops with other cops getting a haircut.

Surely that's worse than a kick in the head, he should counter complain.

Thonglor Police, 'nuff said

"The assailant is believed to be connected to a businessman son of a former official at the Ministry of Finance."

If I ever get kicked in the face, and odds for that are really good in Thailand, I will have to insist on a 100% HiSo doing the deed, and not some guy who is believed to have a connection to some other guy who is a son of a former official of some Ministry...

Thai's will always be victims until they let go of this 'HiSo' BS. They have a deep seated inferiority complex that does not serve them well.

I fail to see what her being a "tomboy" has to do with it!

The cowardly shiite kicked a woman.  Enough said!

500 bt and be done with it that was the fine that the Thai got who kicked the foreigner in the face.

After the meeting at the Police station she may just end up a little richer

Stelios Karamallis, 30, as the man who kicked her in the face.

The assailant is believed to be ...

.... a motosai taxi driver in training.

The greek fella kicked her in the face while she was down from his initial assault? Or he can kick five feet into the air with his foot.

perhaps the assault was motivated by his dislike of tomboys thus her being a tomboy is highly relevant . aka hate crime. the general public seeing the story will perhaps be moved and empathize with her and perhaps some of teir own personal biases will dissipate.

dont ask me why at times i feel like a mother, father, teacher and social worker on this forum

Some guys might like that. Three in the stink.

What is the whole story? Why the fight, booze, jealousy?

Act like a man get kicked like a man. He/she's fault.

Wouldn't a man kicked unconscious want the police to do something about it too?

I thought tomboys fight like a man and usually do the kicking.i fail to see why they mention hiso Thai/bubble n sqeak but they did.i think it's just to beef the story up a bit.

....... the greek admitted to the police his Assault & Battery of the victim; the victim intends to press charges, and the  man, was released on Bail pending further legal proceedings.  Said the victim: "usually in Thailand we are willing to accept money to not press charges, but I want the public to be brave enough, by my example, to hold accountable, everyone under the law" ......
